The blade shape of choice of many experienced knife users, its perfectly straight edge offers both extreme cutting power and scalpel-like precision. The blade is precision machined from Carpenter® Technology Corporation's premium CTS® XHP blade steel—an air-hardening, high-carbon, high-chromium alloy that can be described as either a high-hardness 440C stainless steel or a corrosion-resistant D2 tool steel. To make it even more distinctive, the PlainEdge™ blade of this knife features a black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating.
