The blade of this elite knife is unique for two reasons. First, it features a  dramatic tanto-style profile that combines a hollow-ground primary bevel, a faceted flat-ground tip, and a long swedge (unsharpened bevel) on the spine to create an exceptional balance of strength, edge geometry, and point utility. It is also crafted from CPM® M4, a special purpose high speed tool steel produced by the particle metallurgy process. CPM M4's sophisticated alloy composition, high vanadium content, and extremely fine grain structure give it exceptional wear resistance and toughness—properties that translate to outstanding edge retention and impact resistance in knife blades. To reduce its reflective signature in environments where light discipline is a concern, the blade of this knife also includes a stealthy black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating.

All the other characteristics of this remarkable knife are consistent with the proven Para Military 2 platform, including peel-ply-textured natural-colored G-10 scales, nested stainless steel liners, Spyderco's patented Compression Lock® mechanism, and a lightweight, easily cleaned, open-backed construction style. The handle also features a generously sized lined lanyard hole for the easy attachment of lanyards or fobs and a four-position pocket clip that supports ambidextrous tip-up or tip-down carry. To complement the blade's DLC finish, the clip and all handle hardware also have low-profile black coatings.
