This remarkable expression of the Native Chief features a full-flat-ground blade crafted from Crucible® CPM® M4. One of the premier steel choices for high-performance custom blades and knives used in competitive cutting, CPM M4 is a special purpose high speed tool steel produced by the particle metallurgy process. Its sophisticated alloy composition, high vanadium content, and extremely fine grain structure give it exceptional wear resistance and toughness—properties that translate to outstanding edge retention and impact resistance in knife blades. The blade of this knife is further enhanced by a non-reflective, black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating.

True to Blade HQ's signature style, this knife's handle showcases natural- colored G-10 scales. These peel-ply-textured scales provide a non-slip grip and, along with a stainless steel backspacer, provide support for the knife's precision-machined back lock mechanism. Four sets of threaded inserts in the scales allow its hourglass pocket clip to be configured for tip-up or tip-down carry on either side of the body, and a generously sized lanyard hole easily accommodates fobs and lanyards. To complement its DLC-coated blade, the knife's lock bar, backspacer, clip, and all other handle hardware also sport black coatings.
