The first defining feature of this remarkable knife is its blade, which is crafted from CPM® M4, a special purpose high speed tool steel produced by the particle metallurgy process. CPM M4's sophisticated alloy composition, high vanadium content, and extremely fine grain structure give it exceptional wear resistance and toughness—properties that translate to outstanding edge retention and impact resistance in knife blades. Taking full advantage of these qualities, the PlainEdge™ blade of this knife features a full-flat grind and low-friction satin finish for optimal cutting performance.

Not to be outdone, the knife's lightweight handle is injection molded from jade-colored fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN). Reminiscent of the "natural" color of Blade HQ's signature G-10-handled Exclusives, the handle includes Spyderco's Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern for a secure grip. It also houses a stainless steel lock bar that forms the heart of the knife's patented Compression Lock® mechanism. All other features are consistent with the established Para 3 Lightweight platform, including a lightweight, easily cleaned, open-backed construction style and a reversible deep-pocket wire clip that allows a choice of left or right-side tip-up carry.
