The blade of this elite knife is precision machined from CPM® S35VN, a martensitic stainless steel designed to offer improved toughness over CPM S30V. Its unique chemistry promotes the formation of niobium carbides along with vanadium and chromium carbides, making it about 15-20% tougher than CPM S30V without any loss of wear resistance. In this knife, it is used to craft a full-flat ground PlainEdge™ blade that offers low-friction cutting performance and proudly features Spyderco's signature Trademark Round Hole™ for swift, ambidextrous one-handed opening.

The other defining feature of this knife is its handle, which showcases textured, brown G-10 scales. Skeletonized stainless steel liners nested within the scales form the foundation of the knife's unique Compression Lock™ mechanism—a patented lock that offers extreme strength and safe, convenient, one-handed operation.
