The late Wayne Goddard was a legend in the knife community. A Master Bladesmith, a member of Blade® Magazine's Cutlery Hall of Fame®, and one of Spyderco's earliest collaborative designers, he had a profound impact on generations of knifemakers and and cutlery enthusiasts.

This resurrection of the Goddard Lightweight is unique in several ways. Unlike the hollow-ground original, it features a full-flat-ground blade crafted from Crucible® Industries' CPM® 4V®—an advanced tool steel renowned for its superior strength, wear resistance, and toughness. To eliminate the blade's reflective properties, enhance its aesthetics, and help protect it from corrosion, it is cloaked in a durable black titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating.

In St. Nick’s signature style, the knife’s handle is injection molded in vibrant red fiberglass reinforced nylon and its lock bar, clip, and all handle hardware also sport durable black coatings.
