First introduced in 2002, the Jester was a compact, clipless, back lock folding knife that offered amazing performance for its size. Its refined ergonomics and strategically placed jimping (textured grooves) on the blade's spine allowed it to cut with exceptional precision and control and it quickly became a cult favorite among fans of small knives. 

This resurrection of the Jester is unique in two ways. First, its saber-ground PlainEdge™ blade is precision machined from Crucible® Industries' CPM® 20CV, a state-of-the-art powder metallurgy stainless steel that contains a high volume of vanadium carbides and the highest amount of chromium of any vanadium-rich stainless steel currently available. This sophisticated alloy composition gives it a remarkable balance of high wear resistance, superior corrosion resistance, good impact toughness, and excellent polishability. These properties are further enhanced by Crucible's state-of-the-art powder metallurgy process, which ensures a very fine grain size and uniform distribution of the alloys throughout the steel. 

The other defining feature of this remarkable expression of the Jester is its handle, which is injection molded using glow-in-the-dark fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN). The tough, lightweight FRN material is enhanced with phosphor, a chemical that becomes energized when exposed to light and can then radiate its own visible light in the dark.
