Spyderco UK Penknife Lightweight Rescue

Spyderco is the first to make clip-carry, one-hand open, non-locking folders called SLIPITS.  We recognize a global trend in many parts of the world leaning to high-performance folding knives that don't lock open.  SLIPITS are a synthesis of modern and traditional, are socially friendly and internationally accepted in city or urban environments.

Sheepfoot blades have round-tips, lessening the possibility of accidently puncturing or piercing what is being cut, making them the cutting tool of preference when emergency cutting close to people, livestock or inflatable watercraft is likely.

Our new lightweight Rescue Penknife's blade is held open by a notched-joint at the knife's pivot.  When closing the blade the notch produces resistance functionally similar to traditional slip-joint penknives.  To achieve heightened control, safety and comfort, Spyderco designers add a deep finger choil positioning the index finger on the bottom of the blade directly under the thumb.  This lets you choke-up nearer the cutting edge with comfort and dexterity.

The handle is safety orange FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) for lightweight carry with a tension-wire clip sitting the folder tip facing up, deeply in the pocket in either a left or right-hand configuration.

The GIN-1 laser cut blade is available SpyderEdged and hollow-ground.
