Liking 20CV
There a lot of great steels out there, but I seem to be gravitating to 20CV in my Watu lately.
I have other knives in the steel but the Watu just seems to cut better (for me). It could be the blade thickness and the thin grind, but it doesn't matter, I like the knife.

Re: Sage 5
Love the lightweight. The grip sells it for me, but with the bushing, there is no fiddling with the pivot screws to get the right adjustment.
The CF/G10 has a little more "hefty" to it, if that is what you want. The LW is still plenty strong (doesn't feel cheep).

Re: Sage 5 Lightweight
I couldn't hold my fire any longer, pulled the trigger as they restocked. It's just in this afternoon and I see nothing I can object too. In fact it seems I will like it more than my old sage 1.("old" because it is marked with "Taiwan" only, no "Taichung".) :smiling-hea...

My M4 I did force patina with unsatisfactory results, so Maxamet and CruWear, just let it be.

Re: Old guys on the forum
About "parts" wearing out. I have to park my Native 5's for a good part of the year, because of thumb joint pain. Had surgery but still a problem.

G10 Urban
I see now the Urban is FRN and blade steel is N690, made in Italy. I discovered a old foliage green G10 Native I've had for a while.....I guess ;) Hurricane Laura destroyed my shop and the Urban was one of the few of my knives I saved. Since I've cleaned it up, I thought it would be nice to use it a...

Re: Watu spring tension
The lock lug IS a spring.
The SS liner is cut, bent, and heat treated, therefore a spring. FYI you can also use titanium as a liner and lock lug spring, only you don't have to heat treat titanium.

Re: Watu spring tension
Not even a week. The Watu is not the most beautiful and shapely knife, but I love "the package". It is quite comfortable when using it. I've cut 1x2 pine stick and no pain happened. The 20CV is sharpened so very well. The thin handle is also a plus. ;) Don't tell anyone but I've lessened t...

Watu spring tension
Got my Watu yesterday and it's great, feels great in hand, the blade slices like a Calypso Jr. I have a question for you who have one. Is the spring tension a bit stronger than your other compression locks ? I have a little problem opening the blade (just a little too much detent). I have a lot of p...

My para 3 is the most carried knife I have. The lightweight with M390 blade swapped in, is my fav.

Re: Differing tabs on compression locks.
Tab problem! There are more than one way to release a compression lock. Use thumb to push tab in, shake blade down to stop on your index finger, turn knife and close blade with thumb. I like this method better because you can keep more fingers on the handle ie more control. I used this method "...
