Well I'll be 68 come next month and I've been really blessed with great eye sight most all of my life. I've never yet ever worn a pair of glasses or contact lenses or any other type of visual aid. Now I will admit that in the past two years or so I now reach for a magnifying glass when trying to read super fine print. I can still read the super fine print but a nice magnifying glass makes it a lot easier.

With all things considered my eyes and ears are still working OK.

Dropped a butchers knife and clipped the tip of my big toe doing the dropped knife dance a few weeks ago. Band aid job only but left a bit of claret on the floor.

I had my glasses on so I could see the potatoes I was cutting up. :nerd
Had 20-20 vision up to a few years ago. And can read a sign half a mile away, but up close has faded
I have matching scars on the top and bottom of my right foot from doing the same. Gotta learn to dance faster.

About "parts" wearing out. I have to park my Native 5's for a good part of the year, because of thumb joint pain. Had surgery but still a problem.

Not sure what constitutes old?

Fortunately for me (I guess) my eyeballs suck at a distance so when I cut myself I can see up close real nice and see just how badly I did 🤦🏼‍♂️

Related question, you ever cut yourself with an edge that's so sharp you don't even realize you got cut until you start to feel parts of your body suddenly feeling wet that shouldn't be wet? 😳
Oh yes! I’ve done the old, “where did that blood come from?” Not only do sharp blades cut with less pain, the cuts also heal faster.

In the area of sight, I've been fortunate. I'm in my very late 70's and don't need glasses for reading, driving, or anything. But please don't start discussing other aspects of loss in old age.

When you check out, you don’t want all your parts working the way they should.

So, there’s that…said he, approaching 75.
