It seems like the consensus is that you should get something that you have previously shied away from because of a brief moment of sanity. Get something crazy. :)

Thanks for all the responses so far. Just some background info: I'm a righty, and I'm thinking of something more than just a Delica/Endura. I want something maybe a little fancy but not so large that I wouldn't want to carry it often. So lets stick to < ~3.5".

So far I'm thinking Sage 2 (Love Ti RILs) CF ZDP Stretch, Para 2, maybe Persian. I was also thinking about a Burgundy Caly Jr. I wish there were a 3-3.5 inch Kopa, that would be ideal as a Gentleman's working knife.

Definitely something out of the ordinary, I'm still open to all suggestions.

When it comes to knives as gifts I guess I'm a bit of a different duck.
I'd tell her to go out and pick up something she thinks is nice and I might like. That knife, would mean more to me, than telling her what I want, and would like her to buy. :)

Well, that's sort of the idea. I'll give her examples of what I like and then I might get one of those, I might get something different, or I might get not a knife at all. It could be a jacket or a gadget.

But I agree that getting whatever it is as a gift makes it special. That's one reason I wouldn't mind getting a Para 2. The Para 2 is not really anything out of the ordinary, but it is destined to be towards the top of the EDC list.

For my birthday last year she gifted me a orange UKPK. She figured my favorite color is orange and it fit me well.

I suppose the much harder question I should have asked is: "What do I get her?" lol.

I do alot of business with sylvarocks on ebay. Their rings are handmade, and you can send them back to be repaired (you pay the shipping) if they ever develop a problem. My wife gets a shiny new rock on almost every special occasion and she loves it.

Edit: If I got a spydie, I would want a maple kiwi or the much cheaper ukpk in green or orange

PPT, maybe a CF Native, and one of the Bradley knives would work.

I would ask for a Caly3. I would like to see the ZDP-189 laminated with the
420/j2 on each side. This type of blade should have great edge retention because of the ZDP in the center but the softer metal on the sides allows for a little play making it "tougher" when put to hard use. Japanese swords use this type of steel configuration for fighting and their sword not snapping in two when struck.

Whatever you ask for I hope you like it.

I just got a great idea. This post needs a poll. Please state your minium requirements and we will vote.

This would be a complicated poll to construct.

Never mind.

As you were.

I'm with you on this one.

PPT or leafstorm for me. Despite the leafstorm not having a choil and point at the heel of the blade, I still want!
