How many keychain knives are available in 4V?

What’s that worth?

It’s pretty much a market of one I bet.

Would it be nice to have a production Jester in a less high falutin’ steel and a lower price?

Sure.

Unless (and until) that happens.. 70 Bucks ain’t too bad considering.

It’s as functional as any other knife that Spyderco makes, within its design parameters. What’s that worth?

It might raise eyebrows, including mine, but; there is a lot of value here imo.

Oh, and if you bought on spec: you just doubled your money most likely.

Mine arrived today too. Exactly what I expected and nothing short of awesome. Not a nit to pick. Congrats to StNicks for another successful exclusive!

Is that the factory bevel? Looks great if it is!

It looks like it. I noticed that too and I was actually very impressed with the factory bevel on the example I received as well.

And it’s really even on both sides too. They did a really good job on this one.

I'm going to regret passing on this little guy. Followed the thread the entire drop too. I'm just not good with extra bulk on my keychain, or carrying in my 5th pocket. Should have known, coming from St Nick's it should have been a no brainier. My loss! Hope everyone enjoys theirs though!

Yep. That’s factory. And like Mushroom said, almost dead even too. Should fair very nicely on the Sharpmaker.

Very pleased with this one. Build quality seems better than my GITD model and approaches that of the original micarta version, allowing for material differences of course.

What differences are you noticing comparing to the GITD version in terms of build quality?

Way to go with the grinds this time, Spyderco and Seki City! These all look perfect.

My GITD Jester has a hitch on opening and noticeable lock movement. I tightened the lock screw which help some.

this is a nice piece, first sub-dragonfly for me as well. I'll have to get used to the size.

Just received mine yesterday. It is very nice with a tight lockup and even grinds on both sides. This knife will go into 5th pocket carry rotation with two ladybugs in ZDP and K390, so the 4v will be in good company. I passed on the earlier Jester offer and am now sorry I did. :disappointed But hindsight is 20/20.

It really is a great design that many over looked the first time. Hopefully it sticks around this time.

I really love the blade shape on this. Especially the forward jimping. I would really like this blade profile in some larger platforms as well. The dragonfly or delica might be sized okay to reach forward jimping in the same manner. Please?!?

The attention to detail is quite impressive. I got it for my wife and she loves it. There really is something special about this little knife.

I love that everyone is finally seeing the light on the Jester! I have been shilling for Jester exclusives for a few years now. I like to think that myself and a few other dedicated members played a small role in helping these dealers take a leap of faith on the Jester!

I think about half of the posts in this thread since 2017 are from me...lol. Persistence for the win!

The next step is getting Sal to get this back into the lineup!

And it would be so easy since the handle is the same as the Ladybug.

Exactly my thoughts! In my mind it shouldn't be much (if any) different than just being another variation of the ladybug in the same way that there are many variations in blade shapes in the Dragonfly, Manbug, Delica, Ladybug etc already.

This is the same reason I think concepts like the Dodo-fly and Dodo-bug, Cricket-fly and Cricket-bug, Jester-fly, Worker-fly, Worker-bug, etc would be awesome and entirely possible.

I'm sure there is much more to it than jamming a new blade shape into an existing handle, but still gives me hope that all of these will eventually become a reality as blade shapes like the Wharnie and Hawkbill are gaining in popularity.

Partner surprised me by getting one without my knowing they were, and despite pulling the trigger on the 204P green para3 for myself, gotta say I'm jealous. It's the Baby Stretch as far as I'm concerned, and I think the drop point version of that knife is possibly the best general design SC makes. Likely to pick one up if an appealing variant pops up down the road

Thank you for your efforts. There are lots of Jester fans that all but gave up hope of a return.
