You ever buy a new Spyderco for an upcoming project?
You ever buy a new Spyderco for an upcoming project?
I just had to, at least that's what I told my wife :D. Pretty sure these are the first pics I've ever posted here? This is a couple of years old now, my daughter came downstairs last night, had this in her hands and asked if I remembered making it.......yeah!
She came home from school several years back with a list of things to make for a project that American Indians would have used, a tomahawk was on that list, took me about a half a second to spot it, I said there it is, we're making a tomahawk, and I ordered a Stretch that very night!
Of course she got a 100 on the project even though we both were accused by more than several people of actually buying this instead of making it, said it looked too good, or too real.....we made it! The handle is from a white oak limb and the rock/head came out of the creek on my dad's property behind his house. That Stretch skinned the bark off that limb and shaped it as easily as cutting through hot butter!

I’m surprised about 2 things. A) A school asked kids to bring homemade weapons? Not that I’m against it, just surprised. B) Any old knife would’ve worked just fine, and you were able to convince your wife that you needed a $100+ knife!
Way to get your daughter 100% I’d say you deserve a medal, but you already got a sweet knife out of it!

I bought the Salt 2 because I “needed to be able to swim in the Pacific” on our trip to a Hawaii...

Yeah, I don’t think they were expecting anything like what she brought in, more like some kind of paper or cardboard tomahawk. And if did draw a little attention from the teacher and other students.Joey wrote: ↑Tue Aug 21, 2018 3:58 pmI’m surprised about 2 things. A) A school asked kids to bring homemade weapons? Not really a project but I got a job where I'd be opening a lot of boxes throughout the day so naturally I needed a Para 3 because my PM2 was just too big. :D Also I'm not married so I was justifying it to myself.

I bought an Ark for an ultralight bike tour. I figured it'd save me two ounces over my usual Pacific Salt.

Salt 1 to cut grapefruit and oranges on our trips to Florida.

Dear Mr. Bloke,
I just have to thank you for some of the best laugh's in a long time. That picture is just what popped into my crazy mind I scroll down and now can't stop laughing. Keep it up, your are making one person in Arizona happy.
No, I have never purchased a new knife for an upcoming project. Sounds like a good line to remember, but I can't imagine it getting any mileage given the number of knives I already have.

one of the excuses that allowed me to get many "Salts" is that I'd never have to spend hours cleaning, oiling, disassembling and maintaining my folders anymore, they could go to the dishwasher like the rest of the kitchen cutlery :p
