Anyone have experience with the Spyderco Stretch? I just ordered it. Looks like a nice EDC knife.
Thanks,

Sweet knife. Great ergos. Blade is over 3". About 3 1/2" I think. If you like that size the knife is pretty much perfection.

The Stretch is one of my very favorite Spyderco designs. It is a big blade packed in a light weight package - with a blade shape that gives you both slicing and broader cutting capabilities. And the ergonomics are phenomenal - it feels like an extension of my hand.

+1 and thumbs way up! Enjoy your new blade!

I have the ZDP-189/FRN version and just love it. It's one of the best slicers I own, and it's great for food prep. Beyond that, it's a great all around EDC knife. It is light in hand, relatively compact in pocket, and has never failed me. Oh, and the blue color is nice too.

The regular one is black FRN with VG-10. There is a carbon fiber scaled one with ZDP-189. SQSAR is referring to the blue FRN with ZDP.

Originally, (and I don't know how many runs there are of it,) the FRN/ZDP Stretch was Blue. I think it was sold with Blue scales for 12-18 months. Only recently, about 3 months ago, did it get changed to a BRG (Dark Green) handle.

Once you get over it not looking like every other knife on the market you can take advantage of the amazing blade and ergonomics :) .

Great knife. I have the SS version with kraton inserts & the dark green FRN handled ZDP189 version. Both are awesome users but the ZDP189 stands out for how long it stays razor sharp.

The Stretch is one of my top five favorite knives. I have the VG-10 black FRN version. Great slicer as others have mentioned. Ergonomics are top notch.

My biggest debate with my father. Stretch CF, is his all time favorite. Me (I know a lot of guys here will disagree) just don't see anything in this knife. I have 2 in black FRN and 1 SS with inserts. I carried them for a week or so, but did not get my self to like them. Went back to Police.

The Stretch became my favorite full size folder the day I got my hands on my first SS/Kraton seven years ago. Since then, other knives have bumped it out of my pocket briefly, but none have ever replaced it.

I happen to have my Stretch in my pocket today. Very easy-carrying EDC and won't break the bank.

For a large knife, the ZDP Stretch is hard to beat.

Can you comment a bit on the relative value of these models. The ZDP-189 model (even in FRN ... much less CF) is about double the FRN/VG-10 model. That's a bit of a consideration for me. OTOH, if the ZDP-189 version (particularly in CF) is some Holy Grail, then perhaps the pain of the incremental investment would soon fade from memory.
