i figured we can merge all the "talk" into one easily available thread:

:spyder: :spyder: WHAT CAN YOU ADD? :spyder: :spyder:

unknown stuff:
-lion knife
-yojimbo 2

FROM THE KC BLOG:

Spyderco! We have pictures of some of these new models that are not in the catalog! Coming up soon!
Translucent Blue manix will be out late this year. There will be a Ladybug Tattoo which is a metal handle knife and has a color ladybug and some grasses on the handle. Also a Squeak with a small blade- non locker with plastic handle shipping in the summer.
Also, the Man Bug! This is version of the Ladybug with an almost identical blade but a stouter handle with a steel bolster. It has a flat grind. Szabo folder has a very upswept blade and the handle is Military size. There is a compression lock. The Balance will have a stainless handle.
A Butch Valloton folder with a G10 handle and steel bolster and a thumb stud behind the hole. These also act as the blade stop against the handle. There is a double grind with a hollow grind for most of it and a flat grind at the end. S30V steel and the knife is made in Taiwan due in March at about $299. A Des Horn folder (S. African designer) long narrow handle, G10 no liners except for the lock. Sheepsfoot shaped blade and wire clip. The Chapperell is similar to the Sage in that it will have a lot of incarnations. On this knife, they will be switching the handle material. The first is a “twill” carbon fiber. April or May delivery.
The Ambitious is one of the Tenacious series, but is super large. (you mean small?) Resilience is the largest in the Tenacious series – these are the Value folders!
Also a new Centofante Memory with a typically small thumb hole and long, narrow blade. It has glass fiber inlay in blue anodized titanium handle. Alex Dianesque is a wide blade, flat grind, made in Japan with a cut out handle. Shipping in the summer. The Puukko is Arizona Ironwood and will ship in late 2011. Made in Taiwan with S30 steel. Leather handle is very nice.
Stay tuned for pictures! They’re not great quality but are very cool

It is too bad that there are no pictures yet, hopefully they are coming soon. So far quite a few interesting designs. Cannot wait for Alex's Junior. Not clear about Puukko "is Arizona Ironwood and will ship in late 2011. Made in Taiwan with S30 steel. Leather handle is very nice." So handle is leather or ironwood? Anyway sound nice.

A Des Horn collab sounds odd. His style is typically very ornate gentleman's knives, should be interesting.

Can't wait to see Alex's Jr.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

I'm with you on that David. That's going on pre order ASAP. Gotta grab one before a certain well respected Doctor hijacks a whole shipment. :)

Come to think about it there's a few others that bear watching out for too.

Wow that's pretty wild looking!

The Taiwan house does a GREAT job with the carbon fiber. If they match the work they did
on the Sage1 - this will be an automatic winner. Steel bolsters looks really nice with the CF.

i couldn't tell if it made the ratcheting noise when he opened it?

Ditto...how did he do it that fast and smooth? I can do it with some other models but also somewhat clumsy.

Nice vid and good to see the new announced models. Many of those appeared as 'concept models' at previous Amsterdam Meets. I'd love to see how they've been refined. I'm also happy to read that Spyderco somehow manages to surprise even me with a model or two, three each year! :D

There's a 2 second flash of a spyderco table in Nutnfancy's Shot Show Day 2 video--the rest of that particular video is just two guys walking around--interestingly, there was a knife on the table that looked an awful lot like a Starmate.

at 5 minutes 30 seconds,...
