Interesting. I would have thought the LW would have dropped more weight than 0.5oz. The FRN Endura weighs .8oz less than the G10 variant. Regardless, this one will likely be an insta buy for me.
There's not much weight to shed. The police 4 handles are as thin as a dragonfly. Two thin pieces of G-10, and two thin liners, and the backspacer. It's nice, the thiness helps balance out the length. Even with my non vivi-sized hands I have no problems getting a good grip on it. I'll be curious to see if the FRN version maintains the same thickness as the g-10 version. But weight wise the FRN version will still have liners, so really the only weight you are shedding is the back spacer, I wouldn't be surprised if the FRN scales were heavier than the G-10 (they are super thin).

The liners on the FRN model should be nested, which will cut a little bit of weight VS the full liners, but you're right that aside from the back spacer there isn't much fat to trim.
I'm also curious about the thickness. FRN models usually seem to be a touch wider, but the Police is specifically design to be thin so who knows....besides Sal....

I just did some rough weights and measurements. I'm sure some of this has already been said above:
FRN Endura: ~10.8 mm thick, 3.35 oz
G10 Endura: ~10.5 mm thick, 4.25 oz
G10 Police: ~ 9.5 mm thick, 4.50 oz
The metal frames on the G-10 models are the same thickness, so the difference between the Endura and Police thickness is entirely due to the thinner G-10 on the Police. Also, of course, the extra thickness of the Endura G-10 partially accounts for the bigger weight difference between the Endura FRN and G-10 models.
I really like the thinness and lightness of the P4 but I think my favorite thing about it is the new wider blade shape, sort of like an Endura on steroids. As for the FRN models, I like the British Racing Green of the ZDP, but will definitely spring for the Midnight Blue K390 model first... if it comes out soon enough.
Now, if we can just get a K390 Manix 2 XL, or at least a K390 regular Manix 2 :p

Maybe if enough of us band together and bug a dealer to do an exclusive Manix XL sprint that model can get some love.

How did I miss this "bombshell"???? This gives me hope for a Chap LW Salt in LC200N!! :D I'll take a K390 Chap LW as well. This is my other favorite model alongside my Natives.

I'd be all over this as well. An easy to carry slicer, with great corrosion resistance. Would buy two immediately. :D
