That sounds nice! But why no cobra hood? That's one of its distinctive features to me.

More didn't like it than liked it. The major issue was accidentally "waving" the knife open when pulling from the pocket.

I wonder if it would be possible to have a removable hood that would not leave sharp corners on the back of the blade when removed. It would add more production cost than just leaving it off, but I think the hood on my Ti Salsa is cool.

I say skip the Ti and go G-10 or maybe just Aluminum. Ti just bumps the price up with no real benefit IMO.

Does anyone know if the salsa is made by the same Taichung craftsmen before they started adding their name to the knives?

The Salsa was made in Taipei, not Taichung.

Sal, I know red is for trainers but I think the name salsa brings the color to mind I would like to buy a Salsa, red G-10, compression or ceramic ball bearing lock, whatever steel Taichung works with and plain edge.

Every time I think of the Spyderco Salsa, I can't help but thinking of the classic Seinfeld bit...

"I SAID SELTZER, NOT SALSA!"

I happen to like the Cobra hood but I would gladly buy one without it. My only real desire was better blade steel than the Aus-8.

Love the idea of a G-10 handle, blue would be a nice color.

I REALLY HOPE this happens!

I'd jump all over one with red aluminum handle (no pepper engraving) and a VG-10 or S30V blade. Although I'd probably buy a Ti integral comp lock anyway just to have one.

It's special and unique to me because it was made by Brad Southard (yes, that Brad Southard) before he was famous.
