Hey, we believe Doc Snubnose when he says he's carrying 17 knives, so why not? :Dyablanowitz wrote:If I dumped my pockets and took a picture, you'd think I was lying :D

Pocket dump
Okay, I don't blame you for not believing me, so here it goes. This does include the stuff that hangs from my belt as well as the contents of my pockets. The details are subject to change, but this is what I had in my pockets this morning (and yesterday and the day before):

Hey yab,
I believe ya, I just wonder......why do you carry 9 slipjoints, 7 folders, and 2 dyads?
I can see maybe 2-3 folders and a couple slipjoints. Are you a special instructor or something like Doc?
I guess I just don't get it.
Then again, for me I will never carry more than 2 knives at a time on my person. Usually that's a Spyderco and a SAK. I can see me carrying maybe 3 knives if I went camping; a folder, a fixed blade, and a SAK.

Partly just because I can :D
I use my knives at work, and most of our tenants are NKP. I carry smaller knives and traditional slipjoints to prevent panic when I have to use one for something in a tenant's apartment (which is pretty much a daily occurrence). I carry many because I seldom have time to sharpen at work (I've been there almost three years, and I have yet to get caught up) and working around/on hard/abrasive surfaces eats up edges in a hurry. As I've said before, my record is getting home with nine blades in need of sharpening (a couple in need of reprofiling). Having dulled nine blades in the course of the workday is no excuse for not having a sharp knife when you need it :D

Carpenter jeans are wonderful things
I especially like the Faded Glory brand from Wal Mart, because they have an extra pocket on the left leg below the hammer loop where I carry the Dodo and Native. Also the watch pocket is larger on that brand than the whole front pocket on some brands.
