I have some questions about this:
1 Can these systems use AI patterns to find new materials and technologies that humans have not found?
Example: Can you ask Chat GPT to find new knife shapes, designs, and materials for blades and handles that can revolutionize knife production, or not likely since all it has to work with are what exists already?
2 Am I right in that no AI system can ever spontaneously develop conscious thought because no code can ever create such a thing?
I am asking the system similar things, and will release a book on Amazon, hopefully within the next 30 days.
Imagine having a small library and you digitize it.
Imagine having a system that understands language. In this case they call it the LLM, Large Language Model.
They started programmatic development where given a word they gave probabilities for what the next word, and the next character should be, and they spent a lot of time perfecting that.
Now, you ask it a question and all of the pieces fall in line. It understands the question and using software that predicts the next word and character it creates a response.
What an LLM GPT artificial intelligence system cannot really do is THINK. It cannot THINK at all. It is not creating anything new, it is regurgitation what is in it's database, so no new discoveries will come forth.
What you have in science fiction where a computer starts a war, or hunts you down and terminates you is AGI artificial GENERAL intelligence. This is general intelligence and humanity is 10, 20, 50 years away from anything like that. But the Chips Act and the ongoing trade war with China and Russia over chips and technology is to keep them from creating AGI before the USA does. That is why we will go to war over Taiwan, to protect the technology, the chips. Most of the chip manufacturing is moving to the USA where it can be protected.
THE FIRST COUNTRY TO AGI OWNS THE GLOBE.
This is a new cold war and it is all in my new book.
