Jende Spyderco stones for guided sharpeners.
Jende Spyderco stones for guided sharpeners.
I was looking for new stones for my Tsprof and came across these on Jende’s website and I’ve never seen them before. Has anyone heard of them or even tried them?

Ive never used their stones, but I have used their Nanocloth strops and diamond emulsions. I also use their nano-oil. All have performed very well. Id like to hear from someone who has used the stones as well.

That looks pretty ideal.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Yes,
They are not made by us and they are infringements, but they are not in the US, which makes it more challenging. Running an honest business is hard enough without these "Butt nuggets" in our industry.

I think the "Butt Nuggets" comment should be in the Talkin Story thread.

I'm glad Sal said it and not me. When using language so crude on the forum, one should expect to get his knuckles rapped by the ever-vigilant Kristi. 🫢 I hope she doesn't come down too hard on him.
At least now we know the story about the counterfeit stones and the crooked business practices of those b-nuggets at Jende.

Interesting, they do list a US facility:
USA - 1900 E. GIrard Pl. #300 Englewood, CO 80133
Is it possible they are cutting the spyderco 2x8 stones down and reselling them?

We also switched gears with our sharpening stones to focus more on the custom cut stone sizes for the growing number of guided sharpener systems now on the market.
I see, said the blind man.

FWIW the address is a unit in, what appears to be, a residential condo building. Probably not cutting stones in there but who knows. Regardless, even if they're cutting down Spyderco's 2x8 bench stones putting Spyderco's logo on them and reselling is no buenow3tnz wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 6:03 pmInteresting, they do list a US facility:

If they're legit, then it's my bad for commenting before we knew.

SOOOoooo, My apologies to Tom Jende for calling them names. I guess they are a legit company. We'll have to ask them to stop using Spyderco's name, but that's not as bad as I thought.
The lesson here is research before opening the mouth.

Re: Jende Spyderco stones for guided sharpeners.
From the About Us section of their website, the last two paragraph:
"If you haven't noticed by now, we are a company that is very serious about what we do, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. We realize there is a lot of information now available on the web. But as big as we are getting, we still pride ourselves on customer service with actual knowledgeable staff. We know our products intimately, and our customer service is geared at making sure you get the right product for your needs.
Lastly, the word "Jende" is often pronounced incorrectly. We get lots of versions, especially Jen-dee, and for the Europeans, we get a lot of Yen-dee or Yen-duh. It is pronounced Jen-duh, which means "real" in Chinese. Incidentally, Jende also means "prostitute" in Persian, so that makes us "Real Prostitutes", and as a result, we've made it a priority to hire only lawyers and politicians!"
I hope things get worked out, the stones looked very cool.

Re: Jende Spyderco stones for guided sharpeners.
Heard they are legit and have decent products, but to be honest while these stones might be decent, the fact they are misleading customers into thinking these are legit spyderco stones bothers me quite a bit, I just dont trust a company that does that and I was recently planning to get some of their other products for my TSprof system and now thats completely out the window. I am not a fan of any company that deceives the customer. Guess they wont get my business even if their products are good, many other companies who dont do this
