Taming of the Schmule

#1

Post by Fireman »

Playing the game of whack a mule hot spot. Trying out this mod to see how well it performs with hot spot reduction. So far so good. Adjusted thumb ramp and finger guard with some success

That looks nice. The modified hump has a more natural looking flow. The ventral nub on the Mule is too big. I'm going to borrow your ideas on my next Mule.

My ethos is the the more comfortable, the more force you can apply or the longer you can work. This helps with making me want to use it more and thus get more value out of it. YMMV Via con Ronnie James Dio

The nub is a good safeguard when working and I was inspired by the Ontario Blackbird on that one.

That's GOT to be more comfortable.

Please explain how you tamed your schmule...belt sander? Grinder? Dremel? If so, what bit? Etc. Etc.

Please give details!

I'm just happy we now have a name for that sharp little hump on a Mule.

It's a Schmule!

I was a alegorizing hot spot vortexes on mules as a shrew (an I’ll tempered nag definition) in a turn of phrase on the Shakespeare story of the “Taming of the shrew” the proper name would be “Thumb Ramp” but in the mule, for my hand size it is a “thumb stubber” or a thumb hot spot factory in my ergonomic experience

Plasti-dip seems to tame the hot spot areas too. Grippy and you could do 20 mules for a $10 can of plasti-dip. Trying it out on some of my other edged tools with great results
