Absolutely! GB1 or GB2 in cruwear, maxamet, 4v or damascus would be an instant buy for me.
Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. L11:35

I'd love one simply because the GB2 is 0.1" too illegal to carry where I live lol.
Re: Any interest in a sprint/exclusive crucarta Gayle Bradley 1?
Sure. Mainly for the 'carta part. I like the GB2, but wish for micarta scales. M4 is fine. I'd be satisfied with either a GB1 or GB2 in either M4 or CruWear, with micarta scales. So yes.

I'd like the steel to be easy enough to maintain an edge. Maybe that excludes maxamet for me..nonstainless wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 11:44 amAbsolutely! GB1 or GB2 in cruwear, maxamet, 4v or damascus would be an instant buy for me.

Natural canvas micarta. Just like the upcoming Military, Para 3, Manix, and Manix XL.Meadowlark wrote: ↑Tue Nov 21, 2023 7:23 amYes I'd be interested in those.
Now, how about scale color?

Re: Any interest in a sprint/exclusive crucarta Gayle Bradley 1?
At some point I had two GB1 knives - bought sourced well after the model was discontinued. I did not keep them as the slippery carbon fiber / G10 scales did not give the feel of security and together with the shallow finger choil AND too heavy butt/handle the knife felt unbalanced in hand and kinda wanting to slip out of my palm backwards (neve happend, but that how it felt to me). Now a micarta or similar scales could greatly improve the handling, but the a bit weird feeling weight distribution would remain. The blade as such was awesome though.
For those that never had a GB1 or BG2 - the is IMO one thing that may get overlooked, and that is the curved spine of the knife (effectively the 'dip' in the front part of the spine). With a hammer grip this created a bit of a pressure spot in the middle of my palm. I never quite understood why was the spine shaped this way as when applying pressure on the blade - the 'dip' in in the spine in the front part of the handle would allow the knife to move upwards that was not helping with the cut.
Mechanically the GB1 was only matched by the Tuff - literally rock solid.

Do you mean the top of the handle? Not the spine of the blade in the middle of your palm?
I have never noticed that in use. I know it is extremely personal, but I find the GB2 one of the most comfortable handle shapes to use right behind the Manix behind the choil.

Just to make my opinion more cledar I have used a photo from Knife Informer webpage to mark the dip (blue) and hump (red). This is more pronounced on the GB1 compared to the GB2. Also because of the shape of the fron of the handle, the GB1 felt too 'thin' under my index finger. This could 100% be mitigated with custom, 3D shaped scales.JSumm wrote: ↑Tue Nov 21, 2023 11:06 amDo you mean the top of the handle? Not the spine of the blade in the middle of your palm?

Absolutely - it is personal how knife fits one's palm. I just never warmed up to the shape - to my own dismay - as both of these knives are absolutely fantastic.
P.S. Yes, I should have kept one of the GB1s and make my own scales. It would have been comparatively easy, as the knife hass full liners.

Interesting. Thanks for clarifying that. I could see how that could cause a hotspot in a hammer grip.

Thumbs up on this project. Gitter done.
Re: Any interest in a sprint/exclusive crucarta Gayle Bradley 1?
Yes to just about anything "CruCarta" but a GB with that terrifying hollow in CruWear would be amazing. Never held the GB1, but love the 2 in M4.

Re: Any interest in a sprint/exclusive crucarta Gayle Bradley 1?
I'm ambivalent in the sense that haven't used cruwear at all. I will say the (admittedly handsome) CF scales are too slick and micarta would be a great replacement.Meadowlark wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 12:33 amInteresting.. in what steel/handle combo would you be interested?
It's a sort of half choil, allows you to choke up on the blade but is a little slick if not gripped properly. As I practice mediocre grip discipline the choil would- IMO- benefit from some jimping either on the blade or the liners. I don't fully trust my grip in less than ideal conditions- which is a shame because otherwise the ergonomics are great.WilliamMunny wrote:So does the GB1 have a choil?
