I got a new knife!

Post by Catchadroppimgknife »

Well actually it’s another back of the drawer revision. :cheap-sunglasses

This poor old black G10 S30V Manix was just gathering dust. I was getting the itch for a new Manix after just missing the seconds sale 15V Manix and I found these micarta scales. It took me a bit to figure out how to get them on (accidentally I took the whole knife apart :woozy ) but then it came together and now I have a great new knife. S30V is a darn good steel and I’m really impressed how it all turned out!

Thought I would share it with people who would understand. 👍

sorry you missed out on 15v, but s30v is no slouch and those scales will likely set that knife apart as a favorite for you. good choices!

It sure feels good in the hand and I can even get S30V nice and sharp 👍

And of course it has an easy flick open and drops closed

How do you like the MXG clip on it? I have a lynch clip on my Manix but also have a an MXG clip laying around I might try. Maybe the ergonomics are different?

I really like it on this Manix. The MXG “spoon” clip is great. It like a pinky grip and really locks in the hand 👍

Very nice! :smlling-eyes

Just the deep carry clip is not for me, but that's purely personal preference.

... and from all I read I know that 15V must be an amazing and fascinating steel, but honestly in my average Joe day to day use I think I'd prefer S30V....
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Great looking knife and s30v is hella good! Enjoy. I still need to pick up a base Manix cause the one I had was m390 and I hated that steel for some reason.

Ya, I enjoy my special steels but I’m really liking the S30 for daily use. Sure I have my M4 and Cruwear PM2s, and my growing collection of 20cv but for carrying around in the field this S30v is really making me happy. It’s snappy, fits my hand very well, and I can make it sharp easily ;)
