I live in South Africa and have traveled sub-sahara africa as part of exploration drilling.

It has been fun and challenging.

Africa has numerous biodiversity areas and depending on what you want there are generally enough game reserves to cover anyones taste.
I gotta ask.......have you ever seen a Black Mamba?
Those scare me the worst of ANYTHING- that & a darn Gaboon Viper!
Btw, have seen any Lions as well? I think they just mainly fart around during the day anyway right?
Or sleep
I have a LOT of respect for a mamba. I had an encounter in 2021 where I was managing one with a surfboard as it was trying to get into a camp site until a handler could arrive. Was stressful but managed to save it.

The biggest I ever saw was around 12 feet. It attacked a 6x6 truck and the driver drove over it. They can be extremely aggressive.

We had two rinkals on site this week.

This is a pofadder (gaboon viper) slithering in front of me

We just drove and slept when the sun started to set.

Amazing photos!
I'd love to go on a safari sometime...not that it will ever happen! But I love reading Peter Capstick, Robert Ruark, and of course the famous ivory hunters from the old days like Arthur H. Neumann, C.H. Stigand, Karamojo Bell, etc. I have a fascination with the lives of the elephant hunters, back in the good old days of the British Empire. Talk about the strenuous life!
