i'm glad you got it figured out, but i think it's terrible that you felt like it was on you to make a knife you paid $145 for serviceable when it was new. it probably shouldn't have made it past qc. the only complaints i see regarding spyderco fixed blades is that they are too expensive for what they are and the sheaths are questionable. spyderco need to get their sheath game right, especially if they are going to charge what they do, or just get out of the fixed blade game altogether.

i'm sure that's not a popular opinion here, but plenty of other manufacturers charge less for their fixed blades and have perfect sheaths. the izula is a good example in this size range. you might say 1095 is a bad comparison, but you can also get an s35vn izula for just over half the price of an enuff salt. you can even get a xancudo in s35vn for the same price as a vg10 enuff. they have excellent sheaths and a no questions asked lifetime warranty.

my point isn't to slam spyderco. i'm just saying, if they can't compete with other manufacturers when it comes to price or quality, they should stick to what they do best or fix the known problems.

The weird thing, ladybug, is that they absolutely nailed the Waterway sheath, my only other Spyderco fixie. But you're right, I probably have a dozen other fixed-blade knives, none of them as expensive as the Enuff, and not a single sheath issue. All that said, if they ever release a More Than Enuff Salt, I'll probably be right there in line.

I attached mine to my PFD and added a coiled knife lanyard for retention. It stretches to full arm extension, and attaches to a bottom loop so it is out of the way and forgotten when not in use. I do the belt and suspenders thing too. I also have a PacSalt2 in LC200N with SE in a pocket and a bushcraft knife packed away when camping to belt carry off the water.

I can use the PacSalt as a back-up or for utility cuts leaving the Enuff alone so it will be sharp for any potential emergency use.

JB, do you use the original Enuff sheath? If so, do you use the G-clip that comes with it to attach to your PFD, or do you use paracord? Or something else?

The g-clip is not useful for a shoulder mount. My PFD has a lash point with 2 slots. I tried the paracord thing, but couldn't get the solid feel I wanted. I should experiment again. In the meantime I went with the old army fallback of zip ties.

A quick follow-up: I got it fixed with paracord like I should have. Solid mounting and good retention. Now I have another issue. I took it off and decided to try it as a carry knife with the G clip and love it. Does anyone know where I can get an aftermarket sheath so I can swap it back and forth? Is there anyway to buy a spare sheath from Spyderco?

Glad you got yours set up the way you like it. I don't have an answer to your question, but I bet if you called Spyderco they could probably help you.
