Carrying the Jester on a ball chain, around neck with a spare key is a habit that I will probably keep forever now...

I use it most times without ever taking it off or even open fully/locked...it is the most useful position and you only notice it when you need it.

Thanks for the feedback, Cheddarnut. I might be able to get the sprint in grey G10 from a local online shop. I've never seen anyone with the CF version in our country. I'll post pics if the deal pushes through.
I hope it does, the grey version looks amazing!
I got it, and it is very, very good.
I'm so stoked for you! How does it feel in hand for you?
Hammer grip is very secure because of the handle shape.

For detail work, I can choke up on the knife with my thumb above the pivot area. I'm not comfortable using the pseudo-choil area, so my index finger rests where the liner lock engages, which pinches the fleshy part of this finger with prolonged use.

Lastly, reverse grip with this knife makes me want to reach out and touch someone :beaming-face

I figure if I don't like how it turns out I can always use it as an excuse to upgrade to the BD1N version ;)

Welcome to the forum! :)
Thank you!
That´s a nice knife! I´d have nothing against owning a PM2 (or even better: The big brother Millie...) in an easily to sharpen tool steel that takes a nice, "used" look myself- though I´d probably pair it with Micarta- or wooden scales eventually.
Millie would be too big for me. Used to have P3, but it was too small sometimes. Got occasion to exchange for this PM2 and I love the CF they put on, very nice grip. Looking forward to the natural patina it will take with time :smlling-eyes
Which other Spydies do you have (if any)?
As I said I used to have P3, and more recently Tenacious in G10. Now only PM2. Going into mountains on Friday and taking it with me for an EDC ;)
Yes, the Millie actually is a bit large for me too - not in blade length (the more cutting edge the better for me), but in pocket.
Endura / Pac Salt is kind of the sweetspot in that regard.

PM2 certainly is a good one for the mountains!
May I ask where you're from / which mountains you're heading to?
I am a lot in the mountains too, my favorite "serious" mountain folder is a Pac Salt 1 SE: Light, a lot of cutting edge, and the serrated edge stays sharp forever and is a real cutting- beast (see pic below ;) )

If you liked your Tenacious: I'd highly recommend the new FRN version in S35VN! This thing quickly made it among my top 3 general EDC folders. And I actually love a good linerlock.

Image
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I'm going to Sudetes (Poland, near Czech Republic and German border ) :cheap-sunglasses

Almost ordered Tenacious S35VN, but decided to get some shoes instead :squinting-tongue

Someday when I'm not working so much I'll start taking more artsy and quality pictures of my knives. For now, this will do, and you all are going to have to get used to seeing lots of pictures of this one. It's excellent.

Image

For those interested in such things: Finally got the calipers on it, .023" behind the (factory) edge. Grabbed the K390 Delica also and its factory edge measures out at .019".

Seems like it took straight spine and K390 that the Stretch model finally begins to get the popularity it should always have had in my humble opinion. Glad to see this happen! :)

/ On "thickness": I don´t have my Stretch 2´s anymore (VG10 straight spine and "original" blade shape), just several Strecth 1s, so I can´t check myself: Does the straight spine Stretch also taper pretty significantly on the spine towards the tip (like the "1" does)? So that the blade stock gets thinner on the front half of the blade than on most similarly sized Spydies? I really like that on mine!
Got the shot of the spine this morning. Next to another favorite, the PM2 in S45VN. Thicker blade on the PM2, but it's by no means a crude beast (even though it kind of looks that way next to the Stretch).

I've taken to cutting a profile out of plywood and trying it in my hand, before changing the contours of a knife. I like your proposed mods, they make sense to me. Be sure to post up if you do modify it.

Cool! Haven't seen one of those posted in quite awhile. I actually forget about the model, nice to see one.

Enjoying the new Lynch NW clip.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.
