No idea if there is a chance to still find one, but for "something different", but most likely highly functional (long edge, rather thin blade, neutral handle, very comfortable lock) I´d look for a Chokwe

https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C132G/420
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Larger & slightly oddball?

Tropen or Subvert. Watu is excellent but smaller. Police 4 is excellent but not oddball.

You seem to have a gap in your flippers. LOL. I like the Advocate and Dice. I think the Dice is a flipper extrordinaire due to at least six ways to open the knife.

Cheers,

CPM-Greg

Love the little ones like the Vrango, Pingo, Lil Lum, and Firefly; something very different from your collection.

The Ikuchi is my favorite weird knife at the moment. I've always got it nearby to fidget with and it's an extremely small carry in the pocket.

A few come to mind. You dont have a hawkbill, so a Matriarch, Tasman, or Karahawk might do.

You said you like big, and I don't think you have any K390, so the Police4 K390 lightweight is a really great knife. Maybe not 'Different' enough, but still you wouldn't be sorry you got it.

But one that comes to mind as 'Something Different' is the Smock. Unique handle and blade shape, it's a front flipper, and a push button close compression lock. One of the more original designs out there, and one of the funnest to open and close.

So, I want to buy myself a new Spyderco. Sounds fun, right? There’s a catch though - almost all the usual suspects are off the table. I want something different. Something maybe even odd. I’ll start with the stuff I’ve got:

PM2, Manix2, Para 3, Para 3 LW, Native 5 LW, Delica 4 (several), Endura 4 (several), Military, Native Chief, Manix 2 LW, Manix 2 XL, Dragonfly 2, Chaparral, Salt 2, Pacific Salt 2, Shaman, Rockjumper, and an Endela.

Ok, I’ve got a Spyderco problem. I’ll admit it. But I’m celebrating here. I just got a new job, gonna start soon, and I want to commemorate.

My favorites of the ones I’ve listed are the PM2, the Manix 2, and the Endura. I don’t think I could pick an absolute favorite of the 3, but those are the ones I love. The next three would probably be the Shaman, the Military, and the Manix 2 XL.

I tend to prefer larger stuff to little bitty stuff. Still, like I said, I want something different. Something that’s maybe a specialty item. Something that’s maybe less of an EDC all star and more of the type of thing you show to your buddies and they go “wow, that’s different.”

So, for all of you that have maybe done something like this, hit me up with your suggestions. What’s a cool, usable, but maybe a bit “weird” Spyderco and why?
The Baby Horn is a wonderful little knife.

The Watu is a delightful knife, that is less little.

The Caribbean is a superb knife that is large enough to be big, while being small enough to be little...

Same!!! I think it could possibly be the knife of the year, maybe even the decade.

Unfortunately that's how all the threads like this go. Too many great choices and everyone has their own likes and dislikes

It's one of those models that you need to get in your hand to really appreciate. I was leery at first but it's one of my favorite designs now. I know you're in my general area. Let me know if you ever want to test drive it for a couple weeks

Ikuchi. Unique (for Spyderco) opener, supper slim. Get a fairly long cutting edge that cuts really good. We are so used to handling knives with broader handles and blades, that this really does feel different in hand.

i'm not sure why a thread like this would scare anyone away. there are some good suggestions in here. unfortunately for the op, asking for something different in a spyderco forum is going to get you a lot of different responses because that's kind of what spyderco does. it's one of the things i like about my spydie collection... i'm able to have quite a few (and even more on my list) and they have very little overlap, besides all being functional tools.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.

Maybe not scare away, but certainly overwhelming if you're not familiar with a lot of the models. Definitely has a lot of options to look into now! Will be interesting to see how he breaks it all down.

I recommend a Yojimbo 2 or (to second vivi's suggestion), a Ronin 2. Or a Yojumbo if you want something larger.
