Some freshly sharpened XHP clipped in my pocket today.

Very nice! I have the same model in my pocket today. Haven’t sharpened it yet but I’m looking forward to the results based on what I’ve heard about XHP. What did you use to sharpen it?

This particular knife I decided to use the sharpmaker to re-profile. I went 15° per side on diamond/cbn rods and then 2-3 light passes per side at 40° On the brown rods.

It’s been a while since I used only the sharpmaker exclusively.

It’s stupid sharp.

Edit* I would say my experience is similar to CPM D2. Highly stainless, Good toughness, easy to sharpen, Nothing magical, just good (to me) and different. Love me some XHP in models when the other “super steels” are all the rage

What do you call the white delica blade shape?

It’s a plain edge Lil’ Matriarch, a Bento Box Shop exclusive I believe. The blade shape is a called a “reverse S”. The white scales are from the now very old Tom Sachs NASA-style sprint run of Delicas (and other Seki favorites). :)
