I'd like to see it in a different lighting as well. Also, being the nature of the scales...these will vary in looks between each knife correct?

They will definitely vary in appearance. I am curious if they bookmatched the scales? That would be super cool, though seems unlikely at the price.

On each dealer's site, the pics look unique from one another - very different patterns of the maple. As expected I suppose.

That is a very plain looking copy, my floorboard has a nicer grain! Looks like it is better to buy these in person to avoid disappointments.

Without being able to see the pattern before buying, I'm going to have to pass. It is too easy to get shipped a knife with very plain scales, but you pay the same as someone who gets top grain patterns. Wood scales cannot be popped out of the factory like G10, Micarta, or other manmade scales.
