Thanks again sharp guy! Did my first two dye jobs last night. Used frost gray Rit dye more.
Looks good.
I dont like the jade handles but after seeing this might even buy a jade handled knife, if its in a steel I really want. Then Id just dye the scales.

Thank you! I am not a big fan of jade either. But I do like that it is a choice simply because of the dying option. This was my first attempt and am very happy with it. It also changes color depending on the light. Sometimes gray, sometimes black, and maintains some of the translucency too. If you haven’t done it before, watch bladehq on YouTube do it. Super easy mod.
I'm brand new here and I have a quick question about using Rit Dye as this thread seemed to be the most appropriate.
Has anyone ever tried using Tan Rit Dye? The reason why I'm asking is I'm thinking about trying it out on my gray Endura 4, but I've yet to find an example of someone using this color on FRN.

I used Rit dye-more Sandstone(basically tan)on both these. Same dye solution, but different soak times. About 5 minutes for the lighter, and around 15-20 for the darker. Shaman was jade, and nilakka was ivory. Not sure if that helps you or not.

That is helpful! Especially the "soak" times that you provided. Thank you!
