Re: hawkbill dragonfly

I am trying to work through the logic of a secondary smaller hawkbill blade. I use hawkbills for rope, webbing and tearing cuts. So I would put away a larger edc knife and say for this tough cutting chore let me get out my smaller knife? What's so hard to understand? You have Tasman salts, Harpys, ...

Re: Popular Spyders For the H-1 Salt Series?

I would still like to see a Salt knife with a Nilakka or Memory blade shape. Back lock and FRN handle is fine. Blade length 2.75" or more, but total knife weight at 1.5oz or less. Thin spine for great slicing ability; white FRN to allow customers to custom dye their handles.

Re: Spyderco Knife For Boy Scouts

Lord knows we need more Boy Scouts in these times. Anything that might increase the desire of youngsters to be a bit closer to nature without the cell phone. Amen to that! Do we have enough people currently involved in Scouts here on the forum to think about what would be the best solution to meet ...

Re: Spyderco Knife For Boy Scouts

I think it's sad that the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) cannot/have not/will not partner with Spyderco to make a good, quality USA-made knife. I have no doubt you've tried in the past, Sal, and I don't know why BSA has not been more responsive. This is even more ironic as the latest issue of Boy's Lif...

Re: Spyderco Knife For Boy Scouts

Many Boy Scouts I know are enamored with large blades, spring-assists, tactical tanto blades, and think liner locks are God's gift to mankind. I've also seen older scouts carry fixed blades at summer camp so fixed blades are not "outlawed" in every Council. However, I think the bigger prob...

Still favor something like a Spyderco Memory in H1, FRN scales, with back lock weighing 1.5oz. or less. Not interested in carrying around any monstrosities.

Another H1 fan here. I love the Dragonfly blade, but hate the handle. I'm more in favor of something like the Navigator handle, or maybe a scaled down Delica / scaled up Lady Bug handle, or maybe even a Man Bug handle, though admittedly I've never held a Man Bug. However, my real dream H1 knife woul...

H1 Pingo that locks would suit me fine. I love my H1 Dragonfly, but it is too pointy. Severe bonus points for toothpick and tweezers which fit in the handle! :)

WOW! Thanks for the info Sal! I'm always impressed that you guys come up with concepts and designs sometimes years before the market has caught up.

Ladybug with toothpick and tweezers

Hi Sal, To reduce keychain clutter, I'd love to carry around a Ladybug H1 Hawkbill with toothpick and tweezers rather than an SAK MiniChamp as my keychain knife of choice. Hopefully you geniuses at Spyderco can make this happen one day soon. I would even be satisfied if you just made slots in the ha...

I hate the NECK Triumph in black with the Para-cord Merc Harness, kydex sheath. Very similar set up. Great for under a suit when attending court. Wait a minute: you get away with attending court wearing one of those!? You must be the judge! :D I've tried all sorts of neck knives in the past a...
