Re: Sage 5 LW

I just got one of the M4 LW's and I gotta say, for me, it's gonna replace just about everything I carried in the past.

It seems like it's been a CQI on many comp locks.

Re: Talk me into or out of a Zoomer…

I love the look, but the family of 20cv/204P/M390 steels have been chippy in my experience. So I would love to see the Zoomer in a tougher steel that could stand up to a little rougher treatment. Make it 3V or 4V and I'd buy one.

Re: Have Your Knife Preferences Changed This Year?

I decided that I will buy no more of the M390/20cv/204P family of steels. They sharpen easily, but seem to be chippy. I had noticed it on my first 204P PM2 and thought it was just factory edge grind related, so I sharpened it out. But now that I've seen more info, I feel like I'm not willing to give...

This is next to a pastel teal FRN. I'd say if it is mint, it's spearmint.

Re: BladeHQ Native 5 M4 mint green dropping Dec. 3

As far as the M4/Mint FRN go, the price of the Sage5 is totally ridiculous at $154.00 considering Para3 was $122.50 and now Native5 is $119.00! I've never taken apart a Native, but I was surprised with the Sage construction. A lot of parts. And, to be honest, little things that I think Taiwan might...

Re: Suggestions for next Spyderco

I'd echo psylence. I have a couple Para3 LW and just got a Sage5 LW. The Sage is much nicer overall. Just observing the construction- all fasteners are T8 and reduced in number over the P3LW, better jimping, texture of FRN is better, full nested liners, and maybe most appreciated, a pivot bushing. D...

Re: Bladehq Sage 5 in M4 and mint green scales

https://i.imgur.com/TAX2vtZ.jpg Mine came today. Here's another color compare to the teal S90V LW. I gotta say, as my first Sage, it prolly won't be my last. Something nice about the feeling of the full liners vs the minmized micro-liner of the P3LW. It makes for better balance in the hand. The Tai...

Re: rockjumper

I've had the SE version since they came out. It's been interesting to hear people's concerns when a brand new model arrives. I prefer to think about how Spyderco has evolved and really how Sal has evolved. My ideas, as a simple knife fan, are constructed from being a consumer- does it seem worth the...

Re: Rockjumper SE or not?

I've had one since they came out. I used to carry a SE Rescue in the 90's, so the Rockjumper seemed nostalgic to me. I like that they are full liners. The handle shape is great, but is a bit higher volume than some other popular models. It has a somewhat large feel in the pocket because of how the b...

Mine, from the original run, also does that. It is not the only Spyderco that has done it. I think someone called it blade lash.

Re: New PM2 and blade play

There is a finicky relationship between the stop pin and the pivot. If you aren't getting good action or you have blade play, try loosening or tightening the stop pin screw just a touch.

Re: Para 3 LW problem

If the pocket clip is on the correct side for the pocket you carry it in, the blade should be pressed into the seam of your pocket.

Maybe you have the clip on the wrong side?

Re: Just liking my Para 3 LW

I went from zero P3LW to 2 P3LW this year. Really handy size for the weight. And way easier to clean out without liners/washer.
