EDC Fixed Blade
Hey all, I was considering EDCing a fixed blade and thinking of taking the paring knife or mini-paring knife and molding a kydex sheath for it. I have no experience with kydex or making sheaths so I'm just trying to gauge the feasablity of this. Has anyone tried it? Any other suggestions for an EDCa...

National seems a bit pricier than others at $87.97. Can anyone who bought elsewhere confirm?

Re: Poor man's gentleman's knife?
:D Edit: Ha! I just saw Spydergirl's post and realized this thread is 2 years old. If the OP is still looking for a knife then feel free to read, otherwise everything below is irrelevant :D . Spin with blue nishijin is my vote. Super classy, VG10 wharnie style blade, extremely versatile, great ergos...

Re: Post your Para 3!
I actually took the clip off mine. It's big enough to not get lost or fall out of the pocket, and I find it rides better and more importantly, it feels better in my hand.

Re: Beginner edc (pm2 or manix 2 family)
+1 for the Manix2 LW. Agreed that the Native5 might be more practical depending on preferences. Also a +1 for the Manix 2 LW. I have the Knifecenter CTS-XHP exclusive and I think it's the ideal EDC for me. Opening the box and picking it up was the first--and thankfully to this day, only--time I hav...

Yes, exactly!funghiman wrote:If I get you right, are you suggesting adding a sort of "safety slide/bolt" to switch the knife between a slip joint/notch joint and backlock?
That would be a very interesting subject.

Re: Thoughts on locking models as Slipit versions
Personally I think Janisong will fall into the category of "gravity knives" just as conventional balisongs do... That makes sense, but what about adapting a "manual lock" to current production Spydercos like the Delica? I know my Delica, while smooth when opening, does have quit...

Re: Thoughts on locking models as Slipit versions
Would something like the Janisong be legal in Germany? I have a very superficial understanding of German knife laws thanks to that guy who builds insane slingshots on Youtube. I forget his name, but he did a good video summarizing German weapon laws, including those pertaining to knives. My big take...

They are releasing a Manix 2 that has a core of S90V composited with CPM 154. Forum search or google search "composite manix" and you'll see.krikun98 wrote:Would you please elaborate?soundshaman wrote: Composite Manix

Re: Definite purchases out of the new releases?
I've had the Meerkat and Rhino on pre-order for a while now, so those 2 are at the top of the list by default. The One Eyed Jack first struck me like a lightning bolt, but does anyone know if it will be production or sprint/flash? That Lil'Nilakka keeps worming its way to the top, too. It looks like...

Thankx for the warm welcome! Especially, Sal--can cross that one off of my bucket list! :D Hoimin, that was an interesting video, but it hurt quite a bit seeing so many great Spydies abused in such a fashion. Although, I did actually laugh out loud when it came to the backlock test. Not surprised th...

Lock Comparison
Hi all, I haven't been on the forums long enough to know if this was ever a discussion, but a quick search of "lock analysis" and "lock comparison" brought up nothing relevant in the first 10 pages of results. I was wondering if there has ever been a comprehensive break down comp...

Re: Your Favorite Big And Small Spyderco EDC
Manix 2 LW w/ CTS-XHP for the big blade, and I'll often drop a Spin into my coin pocket as a companion; although, recently I have been swapping out the Spin for a HAP 40 Ladybug.
I just love that feeling of slipping a knife into a pocket and hardly realizing it's there!

Re: Please help me pick my next Spydie
My Spydercos that get the most pocket time, and consistent pocket time, are the ones that fit in my coin pocket. I have 3: a spin with blue nishijin, ladybug in hap40, and manbug in hap40. The Spyderco Spin with blue nishijin was my very first Spydie and remains one of my favorite. A gorgeous knife ...
