Re: Spyderco Siren CF/S90v Sprint…In The Wild!

I had the regular Siren before buying the sprint, so I already liked the ergonomics of it. Very easy to use a pinch grip up on the blade for precision work. I like having a bit of a guard to keep fingers from sliding. The sprint run is just as good as the regular one in terms of fit and finish, but ...

I'll pass on paying MSRP for the dragonfly. I do think this is the only Zome to date that I've actually liked the looks of. If they do this in the Delica, I'll probably bite.

Same, but for the Endura. This Zome is awesome- very ghostly looking.

Re: Isn't it time to upgrade the Manix 2 standard steel?

.... Heck, BD1N is actually amazing too- my Manix LW is one of the sharpest knives I own. Do you also feel it has better edge retention than it "should" when just going by charts and not real life use? My Manix LWs in BD1N kept surprising me in that regard (just a totally unscientific Imp...

Re: Isn't it time to upgrade the Manix 2 standard steel?

I feel like the current business model is doing just fine: release many, many models in a plethora of steels (through sprints, exclusives) so that everyone essentially gets exactly what they want. At the same time retain a factory base model in a more affordable steel for those that just need someth...

Re: Native Chief M390 sprint run

It seems there were some reports of quality concerns early on but honestly my satin example is one of the nicer Spydercos I’ve ever received. Basically perfect fit, finish and grind as far as I can tell. Seriously sharp out of the box. I let my only other Chief go some months back and was looking to...

Re: Toughness vs Edge Retention vs Corrosion Resistance: What do you prioritize the most?

Depends on what I’m doing. And believe me, I’ve put plenty of thought in to what jobs I buy each knife for- something I’m sure a lot of us do! Usually though, I like to use something that is easier to sharpen vs something that holds an edge for 5 years while cutting up 60 space rhinos a day. I’ve go...

Re: Waterway Lookout Thread

I’m looking for a Waterway friends- been looking for months. Does anyone have any leads? I can only find them for full MSRP, which I’m not nearly desperate enough for. They seem scarce on the secondary market as well. I keep worrying that they’re on the chopping block for production. I’ll holler he...

Re: Something between the Manix and the Chaparral?

Sage 5 would be my vote. Not only does it match your size requirement pretty well, they are just so freaking high quality for the money. My Sage 5 LW was around $110 I think? And oh my goodness is it just about perfect. Taichung knows their business well.

Re: Stretch 2 XL in grey G10 and CruWear steel!

Got mine this morning. Fit and finish are seriously immaculate- very smooth action! Basically drops shut out of box. There was a burr on the edge but took 30 seconds to fix. Bevels nice and even. Great work Seki!

Pics to follow when I get some time with it.

Re: What is the first Spyderco you'd replace?

Subject to change depending on current mood, but a Military of some sort, an LC Siren, an H1 Pac Salt SE, and an FRN Chaparral would certainly get me going again. I might be able to stop there too.
