ESEE alternative
One contender is the Boker mini bronco, looks like a cool smaller knife for hiking. I like the ESEE 3 dimensions but the handle has always been small feeling. Any other similar ones people have tried?

Re: ESEE alternative
The Cold Steel Mini Pendleton seems to be a good option for an alternative to an Izula. The Fallkniven R2 Scout (3.16") would be a good choice. So, too, would be the WM1 (2.75"Elmax) and the pocket carry only Kolt (3.35").

Have you tried different scales?
Most people say that the factory scales are too big or blocky.
Have you looked at Condor or Muela knives? They both make a bushcraft style of knife.

I know the knife connection makes some scales that are a half inch longer but that adds to the cost. Might be worth it though
