iPhone forum help, please?

#1

Post by Jazz »

Since I got a new iPhone SE, the forum won't stay signed in, even with remember me checked. What do I need to do? Please help, all you tech savvy people. I'm quite annoyed. Thanks.
- best wishes, Jazz.

I don't have an iPhone, but first thing I'd check is if this issue happens on other forums too. If not it is likely an issue with this forum, if it does it's more likely a setting in the phone.

Maybe check power saving settings for your browser app. In android the power saver can kill apps and maybe depending on if they get a shut down signal maybe they clean up. Also check if you delete browser history when you close. Lots of stupid stuff is built into most of what passes for an OS these days

I've got the same problem ever since I got an iPhone too, I've just been dealing with it unless there's a way to fix it..

Hmm...just replaced my old 5 with a 6S recently. No issues here.

Only thing I can see to check is under Settings>Safari>Privacy & Security, there's a "Do Not Track" button as well as "Block Cookies" selection options. My "do not track" button is off, and cookies allows from websites I visit.

Just tried that and no luck. What is the do not track button for?

Try checking:

Settings>Safari>Autofill > "Names and Passwords". Mine is "on".

Settings>Safari>Frequently Visited Sites. Mine is 'on".

My Autofill is off btw, and I'm not having the same issue.

Jazz, you did allow Cookies? I would have thought that'd be the ticket.

I suggest you google the problem with your iPhone model.
I'm sure many others have same issue. My iph 6 no trouble but I've not done the software updates.
Good luck,

FWIW, after I turned my "do not track" button on, I started getting logged out every so often...at least once a day. So it must have some function to enable cookies or clear them.

Edit- ok that button seems pretty useless:

It's still happening all the time. I wonder if it's the forum somehow. My computer's fine, and my old phone. Very annoying.

I could never get my Android phone to stay logged in, either. I never figured it out.

I struggle with it, I just log in when I feel like I want to log in. I think at one point I told my browser to save my username and password to make it a little easier to login each time.

Why don't you take that as your queue to take a walk in the woods and take some pictures of your awesome knives? :)

We're both really happy with our phones.

CAN THE ADMINS OF THIS PAGE DO A BETTER JOB OF MONITORING WHO IS ALLOWED ON THIS PAGE? WE HAVE A NEW MEMBER. AN ELDERLY WOMAN. SHES HAS BEEN PRIVATELY MESSAGING MEN. SENDING THEM NAKED PICTURES OF HERSELF IN GROTESQUE POSES ALONG WITH CLOSE UPS OF HER LADY GARDEN. SHE IS OFFERING AN IPHONE 8+ IN EXCHANGE FOR SEXUAL FAVORS. I AM ESPECIALLY BOTHERED BECAUSE IT TURNED OUT TO BE AN IPHONE 6+ AND OBVIOUSLY SOMETHINGS WRONG WITH IT CAUSE ITS SUPER SLOW AND THE CAPS LOCK IS STUCK ON.
