best deal youv'e gotten?

#1

Post by genius5th »

what's the best deal for a spydie have you guy's gotten either from a seller not knowing what gem they had or a trade that was too good to pass up. Mine would have to be a brass lined lefty co-pilot that I got for $40 from the bay from someone who titled the auction as "spyderco cricket serrated edge"
I was amazed I scored a grail so easily!

Best one recently was snagging a fairly uncommon Q for $125 a few weeks ago that I'd have guessed would end up well over $200. Then another seller put an identical one up a few days later. That one went for under $90. Funny thing is, I can congratulate the person who snagged that one on their good fortune and still think I got a darn good deal.

Lone wolf armorer's tool.. basically the Endura4 with a punch tool at the end for glock disassembly.. $50. That, and I think the USN Enduras were great deals for me.

Chris

Chris, a Cairns Brothers Leather was the one I was referring to. Was hoping it was you that nailed the second one. Picked up a GBC blade a few days later and mounted it in a spare handle I had.

A Viele 2 for $30. It was a misprint, or incorrect ad that knifecenter honored anyway just to be decent. Anybody remember that?

I recall getting a new Endura somewhere for about $42 ( E4, about a year back)

Two new Endura 1's without boxes for $18 - titled "2 hunting knives" in Sporting Goods

The Gunting I posted about a while back was $25 - titled "custom made knife"

Just got a LN in box Sage 1 for $74 which I've been EDCing since. - 3 used ones closed in the space of a few hours. I got the best and the cheapest because it closed at 11:30 PM Pacific time.

All on ebay, including shipping.

That's quite a catch. Only 20% of the first run were lefties.

Probably all the Microtech's I bought in the mid to late 90's.
Spyderco wise? A few scores on the bay, Mules, Swick's, a couple magnetic units from the Co. , 35% plus free shipping from Sierra Trading,
a Black P/E Dodo at a fair price....... That's about it.

Oh, the (2) Future grail S90v Manix 2's I just bought. They are a bargain at on-line prices. Have had one in my pocket all week!
That's the one to watch.
(Only picked up two of 'em for personal use)
:spyder:  :spyder:  :spyder:  :spyder:
More S90v & CF please.......
