New ZT 0562CF
Just came in this a.m. First impressions are, I really like her if she wasn't so dam hard to flip. Very strong detent to say the least. Other than that, she's a wonderful knife! Excellent ergos, balanced very well, extremely sharp. The closest Ive come to see rivaling Spyderco Taichung knives. There must be a way to loosen her up? At any rate here are some pics. Ive found she's very close in size to the Gayle Bradley.

Re: New ZT 0562CF
That's one sweet knife, man. I've admired the ZT line on many occasions and have been tempted--but somehow the overt lack of the Round Hole sends me back to the Spyderco line. :D
To loosen the flipping action, you could try *gently* bending the lock bar in the opposite direction ever so slightly to reduce the tension on the tang of the blade. Of course, you will likely need to remove the over-travel stop in order to accomplish this. (I just did this with one of my handmade framelock models and it worked like a charm).
Spydie or not, that is one nice looking blade. :) Congrats!

Thank you SpyderNut :)
I appreciate the help as well. Man, if this thing flipped as easily as either the Domino or the Southard, it just may be my favorite. Its really very nice. Built very well.

Lol, I believe - after many attempts she's starting to loosen up a bit. Flipping easier now. Getting broken in I reckon. Makes me REALLY like it :)

Congrat's Mac! Another great score you got there :D I'd imagine the knife being new it's going to need a bit of time to break in, just play with it a lot when you have time and it should get smoother, maybe try a drop of oil on the pivot :) I'd like to get the regular 0562 with the Elmax blade but prices over here for ZT's have gone up a lot recentlyMacLaren wrote:Lol, I believe - after many attempts she's starting to loosen up a bit. Do you know if Jim Ankerson has tested this knife yet? Curious to know where it would rank on his list :p

Yes, ya got to give her a little time to break in, and more importantly imo anyways, is a good grip. But, as far as Jim testing this ZT Bohler M390, I'm not sure my friend. But, I can tell ya its one very excellent slicer! Very sharp. I also say imo- again, Spyderco is so dang hard to beat. You really appreciate just how dam nice the Southard, and especially so the Domino really are. However, this 0562cf comes right on their heels imo. Its a very, very nice knife.

Hi Mac, glad to hear it's breaking in sweet for you.
Great pix by the way, I can see why people like the Gayle Bradley so much.

Oh, yup, there it is! I like that you compared it to something I both have and like. I like my Gayle Bradley for many of the same reasons that drew me to the 0562CF. Feels good, looks good, and works good (ok, well). Fortunately I've already bankrupted myself buying presents (for myself and others), otherwise I'd be tracking one down pretty soon. Or is that unfortunate...

But seriously, I too like it and the Bradley a lot. And for the same reasons you mentioned.
I would love to know where to get the kind of CF that Sal uses on the Bradley. Its my favorite.

Re: New ZT 0562CF
How does the ZT's CF compare to the Bradley? Is it different?
Re: New ZT 0562CF
ZT's have never really flipped my switch, but that's a good looking knife. Enjoy!

Yeah man, the ZT is smooth, as the GB is "textured" .....the GB may be CF over G10?PayneTrain wrote:How does the ZT's CF compare to the Bradley? Is it different?
I'll post a good pic of the GB, that shows it.

Thanx Jodi. I must say, this knife is breaking in quite nicely. I believe 204p/m390 may be my favorite steel.1623 wrote:ZT's have never really flipped my switch, but that's a good looking knife. Enjoy!

Re: New ZT 0562CF
What's the weight on that knife? I have a Kershaw catalog but the one is not listed.
Now you have to order a Knockout 1870 OLBLK to go with it. I have the ZT 0770 and the 1870 and actually like the 1870 Kershaw better. The 1870 is only around $65.00 or less
