Caly 3 Drop point? a dream to far?
I love my ukpk drop-point ( my first spydie) but miss a lock, would a caly3 appeal?

There would probably be a market for it, though probably not a huge one. Drop point blades don't seem to appeal to as many people as the leaf/spear types. I'd almost certainly buy one but, to be honest, I'd prefer a DP version of the CF Chaparral.

With all the threads about making the Stretch with a straight spine, I don't think the popularity is there.
Doesn't Spyderco call the Para style blade a modified drop point or something like that?
If nothing else, just modify the Caly 3.5's spine to your liking and make your own DP.

At least two that I can think of. Some folks just prefer the esthetics of a straight spine, some prefer the more acute "splinter picker" tip it provides, and I'm sure there are some who prefer it for both of those reasons or for others. I don't think anyone has suggested replacing the DP Stretch with a straight spine version and, to me, choice is never a bad thing.Scottie3000 wrote:I don't know why there is so much (perceived) demand for a straight spines Stretch. The Stretch blade shape is my all time favorite and I would surely buy a Caly3/Stretch love child.

Few years ago I was in the search of the knife with FFG 3.5" blade. There were not many choices back than. I had R2 and bought original Stretch. Sold within couple day due to the first reason, which Paul mentioned. As much as I loved ergos, that much I hated the tip. I also love my knives to be pointy. If Spyderco will ever produce straight spine Stretch, I will be interested. The Deacon wrote: Some folks just prefer the esthetics of a straight spine, some prefer the more acute "splinter picker" tip it provides, and I'm sure there are some who prefer it for both of those reasons or for others.
