Since this isn't about a Spyderco product, I'm moving it to Off-Topic. Please remember, General Discussion is for discussions about Spyderco. Thanks!
There is nothing more important than this one day.

i have the standard work sharp. i stopped using it for two reasons. the first is that it convexes every edge. the second is that i found it hard not to round off a knife tip with it.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.

I'm assuming you're talking about the motorized KO versions? They'll get a knife pretty sharp in short order.. they'll also grind an unnecessary sh!t-ton of steel from your blade with each sharpening.. my old boss had one when I worked landscaping a decade or so ago.. he bought a new BM 940 at the beginning of summer.. it would always cut stuff, but by fall it looked like he'd grinded away half the blade.. Idk, maybe the newer one's are less aggressive.. I've never trusted them..

I have a Sharpmaker, a Work Sharp Precision-Adjust, and a nice TRM leather strop. I'm able to keep all of my knives sharp enough for me with these manual sharpening options, which I greatly prefer to anything motorized..

..well, that escalated quickly..

Thanks for the great feedback! To be clear, I wouldn't want to use it on anything from Golden, more like lawn mower blades, scissors, cheap kitchen knives, etc.

In other words, anything I don't want messing up my sharp maker 😂

Man, it looks like a grinder.

I usually just use cheap Harbor Freight files and whetstones for machetes, tools and whatnot.

The Sharpmaker is only for knives. Well, and my wife's scissors...
