Chestnut oak that was coming down due to lightning strike (top was blown out)…asked the guy if he cared if I took a photo before removing the ladybugs and he said sure, then gave me a funny look when I whipped out the goddard for a photo…colors were pretty close 😉
Great photo, Salty.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Kinda figured you’d like it before I took it and I just so happened to have a matching knife 😉

Love the pic, and the knife, it's what's in my pocket today. Gotta say, I really wish I'd gotten two.

I mostly post here, but sometimes post to Reddit and Facebook as well. I posted a similar photo the other day with a Bugout the Dragonfly, and got so much hate! It's funny to me how easy it is to for Spyderco fans to hate on another American-made knife with high-end PM Steels and ergonomic designs. Don't get me wrong, I practically bleed Spyderco - but I bet I get a lot more internet points posting this pair than I did the other day, and I think that's just plain silly.

Apart from the internet points, I don't get what folks hate about the Bugout. It's a very useful size, very useful shape, and very useful weight. I could understand liking other knives better, but I really don't see anything to hate about it.
As a benchmade and spyderco fan I agree. The bugout is a great design. I can appreciate a nice LW design with good edge length. See my knife for today:Image

Cucumbers at their best ;)

Not sure if these are available around the country or not, but if you see Grillo's at your local store and haven't tried them...highly recommend!!

I request a moment of silence for the knife no longer in my pocket.

Amen.

First time I have lost a knife from a Velcro-flapped back pocket. My blacked out SE H1 Pac Salt is at the bottom of a reservoir in West Virginia. An added surprise expense to an otherwise excellent trip! I hope whoever finds it really needed it and appreciates it.

Now then, time to recognize the opportunity before me. Should I replace it with another Pac Salt or a Siren 🤔

Assuming you have never owned a Siren, get that. New is good. Of course, there are a few people here waiting for some H1/H2 comparisons. So in the time honored tradition of this forum, get both!

I’m back in Texas for the next month. Which means this will be in my pocket the entire time. What an excellent design.

I don’t know if this was two rocks placed together intentionally or if it was just one spectacular rock, I didn’t care to check I just appreciated that it looked like a mushroom. :nerd :grin-squint
