Re: SpyderCoffee
Great idea for a thread! I'm guilty of taking pictures of my weekend morning coffee and whichever knife is in my pocket at the time. I've been posting them to Instagram for a while now. I'll just dump them here if you guys don't mind...

Nice work, Michael. About time some one started this thread here! I've been enjoying the one on BF.
By the way, that spyder froth above is super neat!

The mule is 4v and the patina is forced. It was a little more difficult to force than superblue or hap40, but I wanted to force it a bit before I put the scales on it. I have been using it primarily for food prep to let the patina develop further.SpeedHoles wrote: Is that 4V?
Forced patina?

Ah gotcha. I am pretty unfamiliar with 4V, so wasn't sure how stainless it was. What made it react the most, citrus?
I may just have to pick up a 4V Mule now and try it out! :)

Re: SpyderCoffee
I eat a lot of grapefruit, and have had luck with them with just about any non-stainless steel...so yes citrus. So far I am really enjoying the 4v. This is my first fixed blade and have been utilizing it quite a bit. I hope to see this steel in some folders in the future, maybe a Chaparral (my favorite Spyderco for city living EDC).SpeedHoles wrote: Ah gotcha.
