Re: Micromelt PD#1

I'm glad you are finally getting the Endura! I know you have been wanting this for a long time!! Thanks! It's true. I tried talking Sal into it for a while. Decades maybe. I even sent Sal a small sheet of ingot Cruwear to entice him but it turns out he was already well aware of the steel and alread...

Re: Micromelt PD#1

I don't notice any differences in the steels during use. I've been waiting for a Cruwear Endura for years and this will be it for me. I can tell the difference in Cruwear/PD#1 and the old ingot Vascowear when I'm sharpening but I can't tell between Cruwear, PD#1 and Zapp's Z wear. They are all the s...

Re: The evolution of a car kit

I keep a small shovel, tarp and large bolt cutters for cutting pad locks off in emergencies along with the other more usual stuff . I'd tailor the load to where I'm going and what time of year it is and what weather I expect to meet.

Re: EMP Proof Mechanical Only Devices?

On the subject I was taught the only time we are in danger from the blast itself and it's actual physical effects is if you are close enough ( remember these are in space not close to the ground) to to the blast and near a metal fence line or power line or something similar. During that bad solar st...

Re: EMP Proof Mechanical Only Devices?

I guess when millions of rads are pumped into the biosystem the problem of fried electronics is minor.
Excellent way of putting it IMO.

It's good to see you back BTW.

Re: The Last Gun You Bought

I like the HK a bunch . If I was going to spend more than I wanted it would be for that. There really isn't much HK stuff I don't like. I fell in love with the HK G3 when In Germany training with the German army and bought an HK91 when I got home. It's clunky but has never failed me and I do like ha...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought

Thanks. I admit I haven't held either in my hand but I like the weight, capacity, design etc. I'll find them to see how they feel. The grip and low bore is what I have always liked about the Glocks so anything I buy will have to point naturally like the Glocks do. I've had full size Beretta , Variou...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought

I'd like a recommendation for a 3.5 to 4.5 inch 9mm. It must have a real safety ( I already have Glocks and don't consider this a real safety) . 10 round minimum with 15 preferred.

Under $600.

If you are able send it in. They have the capability to figure things out and if there is a problem solve it not only with you but anything that has to do with manufacturing or materials. I'm sure they would like to know what is going on.

Re: NFL 2023-2024 Season

This might be where Brett Veach is showing his genius. However I am still baffled by the move overall. There has been other acquisitions I also questioned in the past that worked out. I guess we'll see how it all shakes out. I don't know if it's genius or just a prudent move to have a vet that can ...

Re: NFL 2023-2024 Season

Wentz can still be a decent back up for if whatizface gets dinged for a game or two. Wentz has a lot of experience and knowing he is a back up and not a franchise with all that stress can do a lot of the stuff on the sideline and in the film room to help carry the burden.

Re: CRUWEAR Is now my Favorite SE blade steel

I'm glad you like it Joe. I haven't tried a serrated version yet but Cruwear especially the way Spyderco heat treats it is definitely a favorite of mine. I like the all around pretty good at everything nature it provides and especially I like the sharpening response. I can adapt to most steels havin...

Thanks for the updating Chinstrap. I'll be looking for results as time goes by. Hopefully things will work out the way they should. That last picture is a good one and thanks for including it. If you have any auto type paste wax try giving it a coating. Even a standard candle can do wonders. I've fo...

That's the beauty of cats, they have a mind of their own. Mine will come to me to cuddle. Cats are also very hygienic so where does the smell come from? Besides the litterbox of course 😉 I love dogs but the smell of them especially when wet 🤢 That isn't beauty to me. :) A dog will try to struggle u...

Re: Is there a quintessential Spyderco?

Danke got that one! A veteran #2 with tape holding up parts of it. Perfect!

Oh, I say Enduras or Delicas. I can carry whatever I want but I feel lost without an Endura in my pocket. I have had one with me almost constantly since 1992.
