Re: Help choosing gift

For a high school kid that will use it primarily as a pocket knife with some fishing I would recommend the Paramilitary 3. I would go with the SPY-27 version that is stainless or, if it will see a lot of water, the MagnaCut version that is extremely rust proof. IMO for a teenager a 3” blade is a goo...

Re: Finally got a G-10 Manix

Should be easy to open. Just listen the pivot screws about 1/4 turn on wash side until it loosens up. It’s too loose if there is excessive side to side play on the blade. There is a “sweet” spot so it may take some trial and error.

Great knife, one of my favorites.

Re: 2025 Forum Calendar Contest!

I figured I would post my picture this year early just to set the bar high for everyone. I took this picture last year of my PM2 Cruwear Micarta while on vacation with my family in upstate New York, right on the Canadian boarder. I do woodworking and while there I was trying to source some lumber fo...

Re: Help with PM2

Worst case scenario is you have to grind down the tip as WilliamMunny has demonstrated with a nifty graphic. For the sake of my own knowledge and the OP's though, what would everyone think is the least expensive tool you could use to regrind a tip? Would a Dremel do the trick with enough patience a...

Re: Help with PM2

Don’t worry, it’s a knife, a tool, that should be used and show wear. Sucks when they get beat up but I remind myself they should show use. 1. Should be totally fixable, just post a picture so we have a better idea of the damage. I am guessing it’s just the very tip. To Fix: Gently bend the tip back...

We need a Magnacut Shaman first :beaming-face
A K390 version would not hurt my feelings either. Just need nice scale for it.

Re: Are there any Shaman Sprints or Dealer's Exclusives planned?

I am in a similar boat. I really try not to spend more than $200 on a single knife, but I also want my first Shaman… something will eventually give, I have a feeling it will be when the right spirit run catches my eye.

Always excited for the calendar. I have a picture already picked out but think it might be bad luck posting it on the first day…. Haha. I think it’s a pretty good one too, at least I hope so.

If he is an EMT then he should qualify. Just go to the below link and follow the directions. If I remember correctly it might be done through ID.me.

Could it have caught on the adjusting cord of a jacket or vest?
Good advice, this has happened to me more than a few times.

Check you car too, chance of it catching on something and ending up under your car seat.

Re: Stretch XL SE in H2, now I get it!

My bad. The regular K390 Stretch PE, and the K390 SE Delica are on my list. Thanks, Bruce I have the K390 Stretch but definitely fine myself grabbing for the Manix LE MagnaCut more often for some reason. Can’t put my finger on why but I might just like the Manix platform better. Was very tempted by...

CBN or Diamond is not more aggressive than the brown stone included. They are made to cut harder steels like 15V or Manix that the normal brown and white rods can’t effectively sharpen. ... Not an expert, but I am not sure I understand - ? Perhaps the term "aggressive" can be interpreted ...

Re: Could we see a Rex-121 mule?

Just got some great new scales so of course I need a new mule to put it on. This could be awesome, maybe not the best steel for a fixed blade but an awesome steel.

I am also curious about the rumored MagnaTough steel.

What is the blade length on that piece?

Agree think it’s 12” from an earlier photo but not sure if that’s total length or blade length. But I would guess 12” is blade length just from the pictures.

Re: A new spin on "HIC dropping soon"

On the good side you now don’t need to worry about hurting a $150 knife, already beat up. I say use the **** out of what’s left of it, push it hard and see where the limitations are. If you don’t I am sure someone else would want to without the fear of messing it up.
