    What does CTS-204P compare to?

    Hi folks -

Spyderco is coming out with a new Para 2 sprint using CTS-204P. What steel does this compare to, as currently used by Spyderco?

    Thanks -

    Mike

Isn't this one green? Does anyone know what shade? I'm planning to get it no matter what, but it would be nice to have an idea.

Nothing definite but my guess is Stag Arms Manix green. I'd like some lime green though. Like you, I'm getting it anyway.

    Hi Chuck -

Who is "BU"? Are you talking about Bohler?

The bummer is that I have not gotten to try out M390 (yet).

Actually it's closer to Duratech 20CV if you want to get really technical.

CTS-204P, Duratech 20CV and M390 all have basically the same alloy content.

They're all the same, just small differences in Si content:CTS-204P vs. M390 vs. DuraTech 20C vs. CPM 20CV...

How resistant to chipping is this steel compared to others with high edge retention?

Nobody will know that answer for sure until we see knives out in that steel.
