What are your top 5 Spydercos?
What are your top 5 Spydercos?
I did a search and did not find a recent post. I am curious as to which five currently available (current production) Spyderco’s are your favorite? I’ll start:
1. Military 2 S30V PE
2. SpydieChef PE
3. Stretch 2 K390
4. Manix LW Rex45 Storm Trooper
5. Pacific Salt SE
1. Military 2 S30V PE
2. SpydieChef PE
3. Stretch 2 K390
4. Manix LW Rex45 Storm Trooper
5. Pacific Salt SE

Re: What are your top 5 Spydercos?
Currently available ? Thats tough. Most of the knives in my signature (which are my favorites) are discontinued.
I’d probably go caly 3.5, chaparral, sage 5, lil temperance, enuff 2

This thread is still fairly new with a lot of replies. Same question, your top 5 Spyderco knives...

Re: What are your top 5 Spydercos?
You are correct? I need to sharpen my search skills. “Top” failed me
Re: What are your top 5 Spydercos?
I think your thread and the linked one really have rather different focuses:
- I figure you are asking for a list of ones top five Spydercos, regardless of the context
- The other thread basically asks "If you could only OWN five Spydercos, which ones would that be".
So it is more about a "system" and how one would cover all niches with "just" five Spydies.
Different lists, at least for me.
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

He also specified in current production. The thread I started allows you to pick any model that’s been created

Re: What are your top 5 Spydercos?
I am still curious.
Re: What are your top 5 Spydercos?
I don't participate in lists like these because for me it depends on the day. Too many good knives to choose from
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!
Re: What are your top 5 Spydercos?
Stretch 2 XL (any of the PE versions)
Pacific Salt (specifically H1/H2, PE)
Chaparral
C36 Military Model
Manix 2
I took your question to mean "currently in production," so I ignored exclusives, sprints and discontinued models that are still in stock or readily available on the secondary market, etc. Otherwise the P.I.T.S. folder would be in there somewhere.

Re: What are your top 5 Spydercos?
From the standard catalog I presume. No sprints, no exclusives.
Sorted by size:
OG Millie S110V.
Stretch 2 XL G10 Cruwear or the Native Chief in S30V? Hmm, I think I will go with the Stretch for now.
GB2. The poor man's Sebenza.
S90V Fluted CF Native. Just did a Magnacut blade swap. But the Maxamet Sage is close second in this size.
The Raffir or the Maple Chap. Both clipless. Perfection.
I wish I can squeeze the SpydieChef in there. Not having a Ti framelock is disturbing. :-)

You know what I saw the other day?
A green, white and gold crow.
Any thoughts or arguments?
