1998 OKCA Beaver Goddard with leather backdrop shadow box!

#1

Post by Candyman »

Hey all! I had a friend named River from the OKCA show (Sage Grouse Leather is his company name) make a leather backdrop for a shadow box I was putting together for my 1998 OKCA Beaver Goddard. Just got it this week and put it on the wall so I was excited to show you guys! He did such a phenomenal job!

Most know but just in case…..

There were only 60 of these knives made for the OKCA club. The 60 Goddards were sent to Bill Wirtle and his team at Santa Fe Stoneworks. They specifically used wood sourced from Oregon for the project.

That's an awesome beaver box Rich! Outstanding job! I've seen a few of your creative Spydie projects and they've all been amazing. Can't wait to see what you come up with next. Looks like "Bugs" on the wall too?

Hi RS,

That might be challenging. I don't think I've ever seen one come up for sale. I presented that to the club at a meeting many years ago.

Hi again, I’m definitely aware of how rare these ones are, but if anyone in this community could possibly find another one, it’s definitely Rich! Plus as a sometime Oregon resident and now living just north of its border, it would be an amazing addition to my collection as well. I have all the Micarta Goddards in all 3 sizes, plus I’ve managed to track down some uber rare Spydies in my day (some of your pilot-marked knives for example), so with patience maybe one or two others will come along in the next decade or so. :)
