Make it Sage 3 and we're Golden. Would be the perfect stand-in for the pipe dream Micro Manix/Manix 3.

Re: Please Sal, bring back the Sage2 !
I'm a fan!
For a long time the Sage 2 was my most carried and favourite office EDC. It was my first ti framelock, and is well over a decade old this year. Somehow it does not show any snail trails (except under the clip), even though I never tried to avoid scratches. I broke and replaced the wire clip a few months ago.
The lock engagement has not moved at all in all the years, even though the lock interface has no steel insert. It is still at 45% engagement on the ramp, and I have flicked it open plenty.
I rarely go into the office anymore these days, and when I do I don't carry Spydies due to restrictions. At home the Sage was dethroned by the larger Spydiechef, which was mostly dethroned recently by a plain Jane large Sebenza, but I still carry the Sage 2 occasionally.
It is a superbly well-made 3-inch framelock. I can recommend it to anyone who likes ti framelocks, and don't mind smooth metal scales. If you can find one... A sprint will probably tempt me.

Re: Please Sal, bring back the Sage2 !
Yes. Sage1 in Maxamet was a great surprise. Sage2 in anything would make me very happy. (10v obviously) :)
Re: Please Sal, bring back the Sage2 !
All of these typos. I'm sure all y'all meant the Sage 4.
Re: Please Sal, bring back the Sage2 !
I wouldn't be shocked if we ever saw a blue anodized Sage 2.

Blue anodized in SPY27 yes ? Wouldn’t be cool !?

Absolutely looking for a Sage 2. I finally saved an eBay search for one, but haven’t bit the bullet yet.
I’d love it in Magnacut.

I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Made my own "sprint"
Re: Please Sal, bring back the Sage2 !
The Sage 2 is the one I really wish I hadn't missed out on. Would love for this to be resurrected regardless of the steel.

Not the worst idea I've heard today.

Re: Please Sal, bring back the Sage2 !
I just noticed for the first time the visible machining lines in the lock cut-outs in the last two photos. The scale textures are also different, compared to mine (first photo), which is pretty smooth. Mine was one of the earlier runs from 2011'ish.

Yep, it's one of the great.
I still have my theory that most people don't associate Spyderco with titanium scales, hence why their titanium knives seems to get delisted. Just an idea but maybe Spyderco should try to launch a separate third brand like they did for the Byrd lineup and make it focus on knives with titanium scales.
The techno 2, the Spydie chief, the Sage 2, the Nirvana, the Slysz Bowie could all be grouped under the same separate brand.

Re: Please Sal, bring back the Sage2 !
Titanium construction asks for Magnacut or LC...
I have Sage 3 and it is surprisingly fatter comparing to my Sage 1 and 5. A bit more handle than I need for such knife size. So Sage 2 it is.

I like the 3 and 4.
Surprised we haven’t seen a sprint of the 4 yet.

Re: Please Sal, bring back the Sage2 !
I have the original five Sages and still love each one, but the Sage2 was my favorite Spydie for a long while because it is so minimal.
However, unless a re-released Sage2 has a reinforced lockface (like, say, my Slysz SwayBack), I’ll sit tight. I don’t want to watch its lockup approach 100% like my original did after not that many openings and closings.

This is a great observation and I agree! In the larger market-place Spyderco is likely know for FRN lightweight handled Delica's and G10 handled PM2's. Launching a new line of titanium scaled knives, and include reissues of past release could work!Xformer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 19, 2023 3:14 amYep, it's one of the great.

The Sage 2 is great! One with s90v would be even better and it might even get me to buy another.
