Yeah i just know for a fact that after what i have seen and was told in Amsterdam that many guys here are going to need to take an extra loan on there house the next couple of years….

I don’t think I’ve read any of these threads before. The level of insight Spyderco is sharing here is just astounding. And so well relayed to the rest of us by Mr. Blonde. Very impressive, and no wonder people want to go there and experience this first hand.

That PM2 is mine ! I only hope they will sharpen those using the robots too. The question is : regular production or sprint ?

I think it’s safe to assume it will be regular production. PM2 + Magnacut is like printing money.

Finally a PM2 in magnacut. Beautiful!

PM2 salt in Magnacut, military 2, wharnie lil native, that nishijin stretch. Jeez. I still want to (hopefully) grab a shaman in 15V before all that.

The Lil’ Native is an established design and this new version with a Wharncliffe blade will undoubtedly appeal to many fans. I liked how the compact Lil’ Native offers such great control of the Wharncliffe blade. It remined me of the original C75 Kiwi design, but with a much more substantial and ergonomic handle and blade. Eric explained that the edges are done by robots, so each knife has a very consistent crisp edge angle.

This is so beautiful. In fact, I opine that this is even more lovely than the standard leafshaped LN. It's the penultimate LN design for me.

I wish Sal and Eric would immediately make a Sprint run of these so that dealers would jump in and make exclusives of the LN Wharnie. I'd really hate it for this beautiful knife to be stuck in just S30V.

I generally don't care about the PM2 or its many sprints, but this MagnaCut model looks amazing. Love the sculpted scales, and excited that this sounds like a production item, not a sprint or exclusive. I don't have a ton of need for Salt knives, but very excited to see more Golden/Salt variants.

The PM2 Salt is cool, but I’d be a lot more excited if it was a lightweight.

Now that PM2 is a surprise indeed.
Glad for the many out there who love true Salt versions!!

Colorwise I guess people will always be split into those who prefer high viz colors on a Sslt (I do) and those who really don't and appreciate the black handle.

Now I personally would have guessed they'd wait with a PM2 Salt till the - imo still inevitable- PM2 lightweight in linerless FRN will cone out and "saltify" that version. Easier to do.
But perhaps a PM2 LW would eventuell come in bright colored FRN and LC200N?

I really believe Spyderco are in a weird situation with MagnaCut, where they've gone all in with the Salt designation, but would also be foolish to not make their most popular models in MagnaCut. They practically forced themselves to make full Salt variants of other models just to support that designation, and I couldn't be happier. If you ask me this should have been a thing 15 years ago, maybe not with MagnaCut but we could have had an H1 Para 2 a decade ago and I bet it would have sold. Then again I also think the Caribbean was a proof of concept that showed them that a higher end Salt model has sales potential and that not just ocean going folks appreciate a rust proof knife.

I think almost all Spyderco regular production models should come in 3 types of steels: standard like S30V & VG-10, super stainless like H2 & LC200N and tool steel like K390 & CruWear.

This is currently happening in mostly the Japanese-made Lightweight FRN models with VG-10, LC200N and K390. I’m making an equivalency of Delica4 & Salt2 and Endura4 & Pacific Salt2.

I agree with this. And let’s not forget SE options too. The more I use my SE K390 models the more I’m impressed with SE K390. The way the 15V sprints have been selling, I really hope most of the Golden models get a production version of 15V too.

I’m excited to see a PM2 salt in Magnacut and with more aggressive handles. I’d love to see what they do with a salt Military, M2 and Chief, especially in SE.

The MicroJimbo has been shown before at SHOT Show and I’m happy to have had the opportunity to get an up-close look at it. I appreciate how this design is not just a scaled down version of the Yojimbo. It appears to be completely redesigned to transform the Yojimbo concept into a small package. The wireclip fits the smaller ‘more discreet’ design of the MicroJimbo very well. The handle still offers a solid grip. And like the original Yojimbo and the larger Yojumbo, when you grip the knife with the thumb along the spine of the blade, the tip points exactly where your thumb points.

When comparing it to the Lil’ Native Wharncliffe, I noticed the more acute blade profile of the MicroJimbo. There is a lot less mass behind the tip, and I’m sure it will test way better on ‘pork man’ than the Lil’ Native. Another difference is that the MicroJimbo’s handle features much more rounded corners.

excellent. i hope 5x5 is already working on a pickpocket and talisman for that microjimbo. those additions would set this knife off for me.
