Re: SMKW and Spyderco Shot Show
Thanks for the picture! I really like it, personally. It's good to see a hollow ground bowie with a nice swedge from Spyderco, which is more my style than a Tanto with a lot of the same benefits.

Re: SMKW and Spyderco Shot Show
I don't like the blood groove next to the hole much but if there wasn't any there would be a gigantic flat that'd look awful.
The hollow grind and tip interest me enough to try out out though.

In the collection : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Still not sure about that straight spine MT2. Didn't know the Spy Opera had rounded spine and lockbar, learn something new everyday. Interesting video, thanks for posting it over here.

Spyder Gator?
Re: SMKW and Spyderco Shot Show
Hopefully this is just a rough prototype. I just can't find a way to like it, but to each their own.
Now if they got rid of the fullers and held the top of the blade straight with more of a Spyopera hole bump it might work for me. But what do I know, I never designed a knife in my life and Spyderco has quite a few that feel like they were designed just for me. Can't buy them all so I don't need to like them all.

The blades are already being produced and ground in the factory, what you see is what you get.rgc wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 9:14 amHopefully this is just a rough prototype. I just can't find a way to like it, but to each their own.

Ah, then in that case, what I see is what I pass on. No worries though, there are still a couple on the new reveal that will get my $.Mushroom wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 9:15 amThe blades are already being produced and ground in the factory, what you see is what you get.rgc wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 9:14 amHopefully this is just a rough prototype. I like it. I want one. I wish that blade shape was its own model.

Hoochie momma! That is a handsome piece of steel! I don’t care what it’s called - I want one. In fact I want two, so I have a spare when the first one is worn out from sharpening.

Gads! I wish I could unsee that. It’s like a contradiction of everything that makes the PM2 so wonderfully spare.
EDIT TO ADD: But, hey, it’s going to be run up the flagpole and everyone here is entitled to salute.

Does this remind anyone else of the parable of the six blind men and the elephant?
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.
